Weaving Sustainability and Empowerment in Shillongš§µš
At EHF Development Foundation, we are proud to drive Project Resource Reborn, a CSR initiative of Bajaj Electricals Foundation supported by the Smart Village Movement. This initiative empowers 25 local women artisans to transform plastic waste into sustainable textiles, seamlessly blending environmental restoration with livelihood creation.
Highlights from our recent site visit:
- Interactive Dialogue: We were honored to host Bajaj Electricals Ltd. for an open exchange with our artisans to discuss their first-hand experiences and the operational journey of this women-led project.
- Hands-on Innovation: The visiting team gained practical experience at the handlooms, witnessing how discarded plastic is upcycled into high-quality fabric.
- Founderās Vision: Our founder, Nandan Bhat, joined the session to share strategic insights on the projectās growth since its inception in February 2026.
This project has helped us generate the following impact:
- Livelihoods Enabled: 25
- ā Waste Plastic Upcycled: 1,575 kgs
