Aiming to overcome financial barriers and promote inclusivity in education, the department of empowerment of persons with disabilities (DEPwD) has decided to reimburse the school fee of eligible blind as well as deaf students from class 9 to 12 pursuing or keen to pursue STEM courses.

गोवा में आयोजित पर्पल फेस्ट 2024 में दिव्यांग व्यक्तियों के लिए 70 घंटे के एक इंटरैक्टिव रोजगार कौशल पाठ्यक्रम की शुरुआत की गई। सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्रालय के दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण विभाग और Enable India के सहयोग से इस पाठ्यक्रम की शुरुआत की गई। इस पाठ्यक्रम को दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण विभाग के सचिव श्री राजेश अग्रवाल के मार्गदर्शन में तैयार किया गया। पाठ्यक्रम के शुभारंभ के मौके पर सचिव श्री राजेश अग्रवाल ने कहा कि यह कौशल पाठ्यक्रम लाभकारी रोजगार अवसरों तक दिव्यांगजनों की पहुंच को आसान बनाने के लिए डिजाइन किया गया है। इसके साथ ही कार्यक्रम में राष्ट्रीय व्यावसायिक शिक्षा और प्रशिक्षण परिषद ने दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण विभाग के सहयोग से बनाए गए अभिगम्यता मानकों के लिए व्यापक दिशानिर्देश को भी जारी किया।
