We develop ecological consciousness among today's youth using the visual medium, outreach and education. Youth Conservation Action Network (YouCAN) is an initiative of Trust for Environmental Education (TREE). TREE was founded in 1986 by the late S. Ramnath Chandrasekhar, an Educator and National Geographic Explorer officiating as the Trust's Secretary and Managing Trustee, Shekar Dattatri, Educationist, Naveen Mahesh and Writer and Educator Dr Srivi Kalyan. Over the years, TREE has produced a number of documentaries on wildlife and conservation and has conducted hundreds of outreach programmes specifically targeted at India's youth to inspire them about the country's incredible natural heritage and the need to conserve it for posterity. A flagship initiative called Youth Conservation Action Network (YouCAN) was launched by TREE a few years ago to work with youth in a more focused manner.
