Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganesh Festival started in 1893 and the present temple of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati was established in 1984. It is one of the oldest temples of Lord Ganesha in Pune, Maharashtra. Devotees who prayed at the temple witnessed their prayers come true. Since then, this idol of Lord Ganesha gained immense religious prominence. Today, devotees come from all

parts of India and world to pay respect and pray at this highly renowned temple. The beautiful yet thoughtful construction of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple allows the devotees to catch a glimpse of Lord Ganesha’s idol and watch the daily proceedings like Aarti and Pooja from well outside the entrance of the Temple. Due to its global recognition and religious prominence, the temple has built a good media presence. Even the Temple Trust earns high praises from media for the social initiatives it undertakes. Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust Pune was established the Temple to manage its activities. Since then, the Trust has flourished into a veteran organization dedicated to worship Lord Ganesha through its service to humanity. Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust Pune is a social institution that actively engages in social welfare and cultural development. From social services dedicated to help the underprivileged and unwell to services focused on women, children and old people – the social initiatives are planned to benefit masses from all social classes.
