WHERE HOPE TAKES FLIGHT 🕊️🌿

This isn’t just another wall.

This is part of the Cancer Block at Madras Medical College, Chennai — a space visited every day by people undergoing cancer treatment and their families.

ARTA Foundation, together with the Overseas Women of Chennai (OWC), wanted to bring a little more colour, warmth and hope into their surroundings.

And this is what our volunteers created. ❤️

A crane taking flight — representing hope, healing, resilience and new beginnings — surrounded by colours and greenery that flow into the garden around it.

We may not be able to make the journey easier. But perhaps we can make the space around that journey a little brighter.

ARTA Foundation | Project 89

On 19 & 20 September 2026, ARTA Foundation will take up its 89th community project — a complete renovation and visual transformation of CAN-STOP (Cancer Support Therapy to Overcome Pain), an initiative of Sundaram Medical Foundation.

CAN-STOP has been supporting cancer patients, children, survivors, caregivers and families since 1998 through counselling, emotional support, nutrition assistance, awareness programmes, child-focused activities and a free home-away-from-home for patients travelling to Chennai for treatment.
For this project, our focus is simple: to transform the space into something more vibrant, warm and uplifting for the people who spend some of their most difficult days there.

As with every ARTA project, this will be powered by people who choose to show up and contribute their time. We are calling for volunteers to join us on 19 & 20 September.

You do not need to be an artist or have prior experience. If you are willing to paint, help, organise, clean, create and contribute, you are welcome.

Two days. One space. A lot of hands. A little more hope.

11–12 hours on the road.
Almost no sleep.
But a deeply fulfilling weekend. 🌿

This was our 88th project — a government school transformation by ARTA Foundation (formerly Paint Pondicherry) at Yelamana, Gudaloor, Nilgiris

Our team travelled to the Nilgiris to renovate a tribal residential school, where children come from small tribal villages and most of their parents work in nearby tea estate fields.

For many of these children, exposure to things many of us take for granted is almost non-existent.

For the very first time, many of them experienced a phygital device by Xwall.io, an interactive learning wall, computers, and even an encyclopaedia.
Special thanks to Arun Prasath S for making this possible.

Over the last few days, our volunteers:
✨ Painted classrooms
✨ Set up a library with 87 books
✨ Installed an interactive X-Wall learning system
✨ Introduced students to phygital learning experiences
✨ Conducted a drawing competition
✨ Distributed painting kits and prizes
✨ Trained teachers to continue using the technology every day

This wasn’t a weekend of rest.
It was a weekend of hard work, purpose, and impact.

And this is not a one-time effort.

This school marks the 45th underprivileged government school transformed by ARTA Foundation.

After a long wait, here we are with ARTA Foundation’s 88th School Transformation Project at GTRPS Elamanna, The Nilgiris. For 17 young minds, we are creating a brighter learning space through renovation, library setup, projector support, internet connectivity, educational murals, competitions, and technology-enabled learning. One more step towards transforming schools and empowering futures.
