Yesterday, 20th April 2025, First Vardhapan Diwas of Matruchhaya's Balika Kalyan Ashram, Wade, Talauli was celebrated with great enthusiasm.The Power Minister Sudin Bab Dhavlikar graced the occasion as a chief guest. As a Special Guest Swami Aryanand of Ramakrishna Ashram, Persol, Usgao blessed the gathering. Well wishers of Matruchhaya and its parivar members from Rugnashraya , Rugn Sayata units and Madgaon, Mhapsa, Dhavli ,Talauli ashrams attended the puja followed by the function.
Students of Matruchhaya who passed 10th and 12th exam were felicitated at the hands of Sudinbab . In his address, he praised Matruchhaya Management for their exemplary work which is appreciated by society too. But , he said, now they must raise the bar .Matruchhaya should give doctors and engineers to society.
Swamiji talked of a quote from Swami Vivekananda, "Strength is life and weakness is death ." He explained with simple stories of Swami Vivekananda on how we all must have Bahubal, Manobal and Aatmabal. Balika Kalyan Ashram inmates presented enthusiastic , lively & foot tapping dance performances.
The function was very well coordinated by Wade committee members led by the. Committee Pramukh .

Where it all began.....

More than 42 years ago, a group from Ponda met and resolved to do something good. Shri. Madhav Talaulicar, Shri. Shantaram Sarjyotishi, Smt. Savita Ramnathkar, Madhukar Dixit, Jagannath Ghanekar, Anant Kulkarni and Dr Rajaram Priolkar, among others - embarked on a journey, started in 1976, thinking of welfare of children of u***d mothers, stopping child infanticide, counter child trafficking and child rehabilitation.

An abandoned 2 year old boy at Sanvordem Railway Station sheltered by Savita Ramnathkar helped kick start Matruchhaya Goa family home. The fact that Child’s birth was registered in the village Panchayat, brought up as a family member and named after family ancestor comprised some of Matruchhaya Goa’s values.

An orphanage was built in Dhavli. The plot for the building was provided by Shantadurga Devasthan of kavle.

Today MatruchhayaGoa is fullfledged home for more than 75 destitute or orphan girls.
