Bethsaida Children Home was started in the year 1972 in Gollaprolu a small village in Andhra Pradesh, India by Bro. John Thyaga Raju Madiki, members of church of Christ, Gollaprolu. Now it is being run and maintained by ‘Streams For Deserts’, a registered body constituted from the members of church of Christ, Gollaprolu, headed by Joel Madiki. ‘Streams For Deserts’ is the out fit of the church to

carry out various benevolence activities. It is registered with government of India as non-profitable organization and is authorized to receive contributions both from local and foreign. The primary object of the home is to care for the orphan and destitute children in the community, and provide them food, education and bring them up in a Christian family environment. In 1980 the home moved to rented premises in near by rural town called Pithapuram and was changed into an exclusive girl’s home as they were the most neglected souls in the community and in the family during those times. In 1992, Bethsaida moved to its own new building; during its 3 decades of journey, Bethsaida has provided ‘home and family’ for hundreds of children. At present Bethsaida have facilities to take care of 50 children. For most of the children, who had been through Bethsaida, it is their true family and home. They look back to it in times of their need and content. What a joy it is when a little child is given a hope that she is not alone in this world!
