An alliance of institutions, NGOs, corporates, foundations and individuals will aim to reach 100,000 villages and communities of India by January 2016 to involve residents in assessing the status of schooling and learning in their own communities, and to resolve to improve this status through their own voluntary action. Pratham and ASER Centre's Lakhon Mein Ek is a call-to-action campaign to impac
t children in 100,000 communities and villages, by facilitating the provision of necessary learning interventions. From ten years of the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), we know how to assess children quickly and transparently. From our work through Read India, we have mastered effective ways of improving basic reading and math by working with children for about 100 hours every day over 30-50 days (see our work in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqZZ5zz7KDM). These methods have been proven through rigorous evaluations to be hugely successful. And now, it's time for all of us to act and move forward with creating large scale change in children's learning, and their future. Only informed and organized action can energize communities to achieve more. So join us, and together, let's make a big push to make a difference. Come, become Lakhon Mein Ek.
