Freedom is precious. Life is priceless.

This Independence Day, let’s celebrate freedom by taking responsibility for the safety of those around us.

Knowing first aid, learning CPR, following road safety practices, and being prepared in an emergency can make a life-saving difference.

At Nisha Foundation, we believe a safer India begins with awareness and preparedness.

Be aware. Be prepared. Save a life. ❤️

It's not the rain that hurts most people during monsoon, it's what the rain hides.

Open manholes, live wires touching waterlogged streets, slippery stairs, sudden flooding in low-lying homes.

Walk carefully through unfamiliar flooded areas, avoid touching metal railings or poles near water, and keep torches and dry clothes ready at home in case power goes out.

If you see a wire down near water, stay far away and inform the authorities immediately, don't try to move it yourself.

Monsoon safety isn't about fear, it's about noticing what's easy to miss when everything around you looks the same.

Ask your child one simple question today:

Do you know what to do if Mumma or Papa suddenly falls down?

Most children won't know the answer—not because they can't, but because no one has taught them yet.

A child as young as six can learn how to:
• Call for emergency help
• Unlock a phone
• Tell someone their home address
• Stay calm until help arrives

These are simple skills that take just a few minutes to teach, but they could make all the difference during a medical emergency.

Don't make it a frightening conversation. Turn it into a fun family activity. Practice together, ask questions, and repeat it every few months so they remember.

The confidence you build in your child today could become the courage that saves a life tomorrow.

Here's what surprises most people: severe heat stroke can actually stop a person from sweating.

The skin turns hot, dry, and red instead.
Add confusion, rapid pulse, or fainting, and you're looking at a medical emergency, not just a bad day in the sun.

Move the person to shade immediately, loosen tight clothing, and cool the body with water or a wet cloth, especially around the neck and underarms. Don't wait for it to pass on its own.

Heat stroke can damage organs within minutes. If someone stops responding normally, get emergency help on the way while you cool them down.

During a seizure, many people believe they should place an object in the person's mouth.

This is a myth.

Doing so can cause injury to both the person and the helper.

Instead, protect them from nearby hazards, monitor the seizure, and stay with them until it ends.

Knowing the facts helps keep everyone safer.

Many people become less cautious on roads they travel every day.

Short trips feel safer. Familiar routes feel predictable.

But accidents often happen close to home because that's where people lower their guard.

Every ride deserves the same attention and protection. Including your helmet.

Starting CPR is important.

Doing it correctly is even better.

Chest compressions that are too shallow may not circulate enough blood to vital organs. Push hard. Push fast.

Allow the chest to rise fully between compressions.
Small details can make a big difference during a cardiac emergency.

Emergencies are stressful.

But when nobody knows what to do, valuable time is lost.

Confusion, hesitation, and fear can delay life-saving actions.

That's why awareness and training matter.

The goal isn't to become a medical expert it's to know enough to help until professionals arrive.

A helmet doesn't just protect against cuts and bruises.

It helps protect your brain the organ responsible for your memories, decisions, personality, and future.

Whether the ride is long or short, wearing a helmet is one of the simplest ways to reduce the risk of serious injury.

Every ride matters.
