Denmark made CPR training compulsory in schools in 2005.
Within 10 years, bystander CPR rates doubled.

Not because more hospitals were built.
Not because emergency response became faster.
Because ordinary people knew what to do before help arrived.

India has over 250 million school students.
Imagine an entire generation growing up knowing how to save a life.

One lesson in school could become someone’s second chance someday.

Do you think CPR training should be compulsory in Indian schools?

Some moments stay with people forever.

A man once shared a story with Nisha Foundation about witnessing a cardiac arrest at a bus stop. He was only a few feet away, but he didn’t know what to do. By the time help arrived, it was too late.

What stayed with him was not just the incident but the feeling of helplessness.

Today, he makes sure others don’t feel the same. Every year, he invites Nisha Foundation to train his colleagues in CPR because he believes one small skill can save someone’s parent, friend, partner, or stranger.

This post is not about guilt.
It’s about responsibility.
About being ready when someone nearby needs help the most.

Most cardiac emergencies happen in front of ordinary people not doctors.
And sometimes, the difference between life and loss is simply knowing what to do in those first few minutes.

Learn CPR.
Be the person who steps forward, not the person who wishes they had known.

The survival rate for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in India is below 2%.

In the United States, it's 12%. In some Nordic countries, over 30%.

The difference is not hospital quality. It is bystander response. In those countries, CPR training is widespread, mandatory in many schools, and culturally normalised.

In India, most people have never placed their hands on a mannequin and practiced a compression. Most don't know the depth. Most don't know the rate. Most have never thought about it until the moment they needed it.

700 people a day is not a hospital problem. It is a knowledge problem. And knowledge problems have solutions.

Nisha Foundation exists to be part of that solution one trained person at a time.

If you lead a team, manage a campus, or simply care about the people around you let's talk.

This story was shared with Nisha Foundation. A family was at a shopping mall. The mother collapsed. Six family members froze. A passerby a young man who had attended a first aid workshop immediately checked her breathing, began CPR, and stayed with her until the ambulance arrived. She survived.

The family never got his name.

He didn't have a medical degree. He had three hours of training. That training was the difference between a funeral and a family reunion.

This post isn't about guilt. It's about possibility. You could be that stranger for someone else's family.

Nisha Foundation conducts FREE and subsidised CPR training sessions. No qualification needed. Just the willingness to learn.

Tag someone who should know this.

Roz challan kat rahe hain, fines bhar rahe hain, rules announce ho rahe hain.

Lekin agar logon ki aadat nahi badlegi toh accidents bhi nahi rukenge.

Safety sirf police ka kaam nahi, har rider aur driver ki responsibility hai. Helmet fear se nahi, habit se pehna chahiye.

Rule punishment se nahi, mindset se follow hota hai.

When an emergency happens, your brain floods with adrenaline. Heart rate spikes. Hands shake. Tunnel vision sets in. This is not a character flaw — it's your nervous system's survival response.

The problem is: that survival response evolved for predators, not cardiac arrests. In a medical emergency, freezing is fatal.

Here's what PANIC looks like vs what RIGHT ACTION looks like:

PANIC: Run toward the person, crouch, look around for someone to help
RIGHT ACTION: Stop for 2 seconds. Breathe. Assess. Assign. Act.

PANIC: Call 108 while shaking, unable to give location
RIGHT ACTION: Point at a specific person — 'You in the red shirt — call 108. Give them this address.'

PANIC: Stand over the person, unsure what to do
RIGHT ACTION: Begin CPR. Compress. Count. Don't stop.

The difference between panic and right action isn't bravery. It's preparation.

That preparation takes 3 hours at a Nisha Foundation session.

Accident ke baad pehle 10 minute ko Golden Hour kaha jata hai.
Isi time par sahi help milne se jaan bach sakti hai.

Lekin aksar log madad karne ke bajaye video banana shuru kar dete hain.

Crowd nahi, action zaroori hai. Ambulance ko call karo, space do, responsible bano.

Driving ke waqt phone use karna sirf distraction nahi, direct danger hai.

Bas ek second ke liye screen dekhna bhi enough hai accident ke liye.

Message ka baad me reply ho sakta hai, missed call ka reply baad me ho sakta hai.

Lekin agar life miss ho gayi toh wapas nahi aayegi.

Triple riding common zaroor hai, lekin safe bilkul nahi.

Jab ek bike par 3 log baithte hain toh balance bigadta hai, braking distance badhta hai aur sudden turn par control lose ho sakta hai.

Ek accident me teen log ek saath injured ho sakte hain.

Style ya convenience ke liye safety compromise mat karo. Rules reason ke liye bane hain.

Hum sab kabhi na kabhi short distance ke naam par helmet pehna avoid kar dete hain. Market paas hai, dost ka ghar paas hai, bas corner tak jana hai.

Lekin accidents distance dekhkar nahi aate.

Ghar ke aas-paas bhi serious crashes hote hain. Safety ka koi short cut nahi hota. Har ride par helmet pehno, chahe 500 meter hi kyu na ho.
