Sita Gramoudyog Vikas Sansthan is a non government, non-profit, secular, democratic and philanthropic social organization established on 15 August, 1991 on the occasiona of Independence day. SGVS is a people's organization that was established on the 15th August, 1991, having its working areas situated in the then central Bihar which was widely known as the most backward and inaccessible area havi

ng a grimly strained agrarian relations. The organization is also registered under section 12A & 80G of Income Tax Act and under Foreign Currency Regulation Act 1976. It is also accredited member of Credibility Alliance and certified by GiveIndia, which are an initiative of voluntary organizations in India , to enhance accountability, transparency and good governance within the voluntary sector. SGVS has been working intensively for last 20 years on various socio-economic issues over the rural areas of south eastern Bihar where the complex and strained agrarian relations have been the matter of concern for developmental efforts wherein, obviously, women and children are the worst sufferers. SGVS has been dedicatedly and effectively working on the vulnerabilities of communities, women empowerment, primary education, Health as well as increasing the livelihood opportunities and employability of youth. Working on the aforesaid vulnerabilities since a long period of time the organization has been successful in its excellent rapport building among the target community and with the block and district administration. This has established the special identity of the organization as a dedicated organization for the integrated development of the most marginalized rural and urban communities.

SGVS working areas located in the central Bihar which is widely known as the most backward and inaccessible area having a grimly strained agrarian relations. Presently SGVS has got its intensive interventions at Kaler, Karpi, Kurtha and Arwal blocks of newly created Arwal District (previously under Jehanabad District) and Jehanabad block of Jehanabad District. An evidence lack of investment in the farming sector for last several years, lack of education and ample scope of employment opportunities in the local areas leads to mass migration. Provision of basic means of existence and employment opportunities have been identified as the real felt need of the area by SGVS. Considering the above, SGVS has got itself registered under Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Mumbai, to extend the outreach of the services and opportunities being provided by KVIC to the people of the area. Awareness building among the deprived target groups and convergence of different development stakeholders and institution building have been adopted as the basic strategy of the organization. Sharing of information through meetings, workshop and training to empower and enable them to realize their rights and strength are the major concerns of the organization during the last year.

Since its inception, it has been handholding many friends from all walks of life and forging an alliance to promote Khadi & agriculture with thrusts on natural resource development and capacitating community based organizations for popularizing resource conservation mechanism, best practices and effective utilization of natural resources.

The organization move a long way forward from highlighting the vulnerability issues of the downtrodden community, specially for the MUSHAR (Maha-Dalit) community with boarder perspective and concern such as women empowerment, gender mainstreaming among others.

The organization has been prioritizing participatory approach and collective action as key to success and sustainability while designing implementing the need based programs.

VISSION: To create an enabling environment under which people pursue its own vision, ensure access to required resources for realizing their vision and get them realized.

MISSION: To facilitate community initiative of development and change, encourage grass root democracy, ensure out reach of information, skills & knowledge to all, inculcate sense of philanthropy and volunteerism for stabilizing self reliant and exploitation free peaceful society

AIM

Work for all round development of village community of Bihar and continuous improvement in socio-economic and moral status of native people

OBJECTIVES

1. To work for continuous improvement in socio-economic and moral status of village community.

2. To promote Khadi & Village industries for all round development of villager.

3. Promote principals of Sarvodaya (unto the last) Bhoodan & Gandhian Philosophy.

4. To work for sustainable agriculture and rural development practices by promotion of bio fertilizer, animal husbandry, Dairy, economic agriculture etc.

5. Work for education for the underdog and disadvantaged section of our society.

6. Remove social evil e.g. Untouchability, casteism, communalism, class intervals, Dowry, atrocities against women etc. and restoration of dignity of disabled and Senior Citizens.

7. To work for curative, preventive & promotive health cares of the people and accelerates initiative of population stabilization.

8. To promote environmental sanitation and safe drinking water.

9. To execute development schemes of state.
