*Awareness Talk on Mother and Child Health Care*
In Rotary, July is observed as Mother and Child Health Month. On 31st July 2026, the Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh organized an "Awareness Talk on Mother and Child Health Care" in collaboration with the Bihar Maternity and Child Welfare Society, Sabzibagh, Patna.
The programme was called to order by the President, Rtn. Dr. Dipti Sahay. Following the recitation of the National Anthem, she warmly welcomed all the participants, eminent speakers, and Rotarians present on the occasion.
Dr. Shanker Nath, President of the Bihar Maternity and Child Welfare Society, highlighted the significance and objectives of the programme and emphasized the importance of promoting awareness regarding maternal and child health.
The beneficiaries were then addressed by eminent doctors, namely Dr. Kiran Sharan, Dr. Rashmi Prasad, and Dr. Anita Kumari. The speakers elaborated upon the following important aspects of maternal and child health care:
• Maintaining good health through proper nutrition and personal hygiene.
• The importance of a balanced diet and regular exercise.
• Prenatal and postnatal care.
• Awareness regarding menstrual hygiene.
• The significance of breast feeding.
• Awareness of various forms of cancer, including breast, uterine, and cervical cancer.
Importance of Cervical Cancer vaccine.
Rtn. Dr. Laxmi Sinha proposed the vote of thanks.
As part of the programme, each beneficiary was provided with two packets of Sanitary napkins.
Addressing the gathering, President Rtn. Dr. Dipti Sahay announced that the Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh would continue to organize similar awareness programmes and health check-up camps every month as part of its commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of mothers and children.
