*Awareness Talk on Mother and Child Health Care*

In Rotary, July is observed as Mother and Child Health Month. On 31st July 2026, the Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh organized an "Awareness Talk on Mother and Child Health Care" in collaboration with the Bihar Maternity and Child Welfare Society, Sabzibagh, Patna.

The programme was called to order by the President, Rtn. Dr. Dipti Sahay. Following the recitation of the National Anthem, she warmly welcomed all the participants, eminent speakers, and Rotarians present on the occasion.

Dr. Shanker Nath, President of the Bihar Maternity and Child Welfare Society, highlighted the significance and objectives of the programme and emphasized the importance of promoting awareness regarding maternal and child health.

The beneficiaries were then addressed by eminent doctors, namely Dr. Kiran Sharan, Dr. Rashmi Prasad, and Dr. Anita Kumari. The speakers elaborated upon the following important aspects of maternal and child health care:
• Maintaining good health through proper nutrition and personal hygiene.
• The importance of a balanced diet and regular exercise.
• Prenatal and postnatal care.
• Awareness regarding menstrual hygiene.
• The significance of breast feeding.
• Awareness of various forms of cancer, including breast, uterine, and cervical cancer.

Rtn. Dr. Laxmi Sinha proposed the vote of thanks.

As part of the programme, each beneficiary was provided with two packets of Sanitary napkins.

Addressing the gathering, President Rtn. Dr. Dipti Sahay announced that the Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh would continue to organize similar awareness programmes and health check-up camps every month as part of its commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of mothers and children.

The Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh, today the 31st July'26, organized a one-time lunch for the inmates of Antar Jyoti Balika Vidyalaya, a residential school for visually challenged girls located at Kumhrar, Patna, under its flagship Annapurna Project.

The programme was led by the President Rtn. Dr. Dipti Sahay and was generously sponsored by the Club's Charter President, Rtn. Rishikesh Prasad Srivastava, in loving memory of his mother, Late Shaila Srivastava.

The special meal was greatly enjoyed by the inmates of the school, bringing joy and happiness to the children. Under the Annapurna Project, members of the club regularly sponsor meals in memory of their departed loved ones, thereby keeping their memories alive through acts of kindness and service to humanity.

The Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh remains committed to serving the community through such humanitarian initiatives.

Patna, 19 July 2026: In line with the vision of RI District 3250 District Governor Rtn. Anu Narang to promote environmental sustainability, the Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh successfully carried out the second phase of the Miyawaki Forest plantation at the "Jeewan Sandhya" Old Age Home today on 19 July 2026.

As reported by the Club Secretary, Rtn. Nitesh Mishra & Chairman Rtn. Bipin Kr. Srivastava, total of 35 saplings, including both shade-giving and fruit-bearing species, were planted as part of the Club's ongoing initiative to develop a Miyawaki Forest within the Old Age Home premises. The plantation drive was organized under the inspiring campaign "एक पौधा मां के नाम" (One Plant in the Name of Mother).

Rotary members participated enthusiastically in the plantation programme, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation and creating a greener, healthier future. The initiative aims to enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, and provide a pleasant natural environment for the residents of the Old Age Home and the local community.

*Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh Organizes Hindi Essay Competition on World Population Day*

On the occasion of World Population Day, Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh organized an Intra-School Hindi Essay Competition on the theme *"जनसंख्या विस्फोट एवं इसके कुप्रभाव"* at Sanjay Gandhi Balika Uchcha Vidyalaya, Lohianagar, Patna.

About 120 students enthusiastically participated in the competition, reflecting their keen interest in issues related to population and sustainable development.

Club President Rtn. Dr. Dipti Sahay welcomed the students, teachers, and distinguished guests. In her address, she highlighted the significance of *World Population Day* and emphasized the need for creating awareness about population-related challenges and responsible citizenship.

Secretary Rtn. Nitesh Mishra explained the objective of observing World Population Day and underlined the importance of educating young minds about population issues and their impact on society.

The Chief Guest, PDG Rtn. Dr. Rakesh Prasad, addressed the participants and cautioned the youth against the adverse consequences of early marriages. He stressed the importance of sanitation, balanced nutrition, healthcare, and public awareness in improving the quality of life. He also pointed out that while India's population of nearly 1.4 billion presents significant challenges, it also offers immense opportunities by providing a vast human resource capable of contributing to national development and meeting global workforce demands, provided it is well educated, healthy, and skilled.

IPP Rtn. Ajit Kumar Sinha proposed the vote of thanks.

The essays will be evaluated by a panel of judges. The results will be announced on Monday, 13th July 2026. The winners will receive prizes, while participation certificates will be presented to all participants.

Principal-in-Charge Ms. Neha Kumari expressed her gratitude to Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh for organizing the programme and assured the school's full support for Rotary's future educational and social initiatives.

Rotary Club of Patna Kankarbagh organized a Health Check-up Camp today at Green Park, Kankarbagh, Patna, as part of its commitment to community health and well-being.

Rotary Club of Kankarbagh, Patna marked the beginning of the Rotary Year 2026–27 by initiating the development of a Miyawaki Forest at the Old Age Home, "Jeewan Sandhya", G*i Ghat, Patna.
