On 3rd August 2025, Bihar WICCI ASHC, in collaboration with Eva Foundation and Zenith Social Foundation, hosted an empowering session for women of all age groups: 10- 15 years, 15-17 years, and 18+. The day combined self- defense training with meaningful conversations that encouraged participants to speak openly about challenges and safety. The demonstration by Zenith Social Foundation was not just about learning moves, but about instilling confidence, courage, and resilience. Together, the session created a safe space where women could break barriers, build strength, and claim their right to travel freely and fearlessly.

On 9th July, WICCI Anti-Sexual Harassment Council Bihar conducted a meaningful groundwork session at Shastri Nagar Senior Secondary High School, under the ongoing campaign “Redefining Her Rights to Travel.”
In collaboration with Sankalp Jyoti and Studio of Martial Arts, the session aimed to raise awareness among young school girls about the importance of safe travel and independence. Our discussions focused on the core issues of travel safety, why travel rights matter, how to assert them confidently, and practical strategies for personal safety.
The students interacted to share their experiences and grievances.
Sankalp Jyoti, an NGO based in Bihar, sensitized the students on critical road safety measures, while Studio of Martial Arts delivered a powerful live demonstration on self- defense techniques—equipping participants with both knowledge and skills to protect themselves when in danger.
Together, we move closer to a world where every girl travels with dignity, safety, and freedom.

**🚨 Etah R**e Case – Justice Delayed, Not Denied**
A Special POCSO Court in Etah, presided over by **Judge Narendra Pal Rana**, has **rejected** the final report submitted by the police in a 2019 case involving a **14-year-old girl**. The accused, **Veeresh**, allegedly lured the girl into a wheat field and assaulted her on April 1, 2019, spewing caste-based abuse and threats when local villagers intervened. Despite eyewitness accounts and the survivor’s own statement, the investigating officer—whose name hasn’t been disclosed—filed the final report on December 30, 2024, citing “no evidence.” In June 2025, the victim’s father filed a protest letter, accusing the officer of accepting **six samosas** from Veeresh’s samosa shop as a bribe to bury the case.

The court strongly condemned the police misconduct, slammed the paltry bribe, and quashed the final report. The case has now been reclassified as a complaint, allowing it to proceed directly through the court system without further police interference.

This troubling case sheds light on deeper issues: caste bias, abuse of power, and systemic failure that block access to justice for vulnerable survivors.
