Yadavindra Public School Model United Nations Society - YPS MUN We here, at YPS MUN SOCIETY believe in Kofi Annan’s wise words, “Young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation.

Aimed at providing a platform for a diverse group of delegates, to discuss significant global issues and to present possible solutions to a vast collection of issues, ranging from Economic crisis, to Disarmament, to Human Rights, YPS MUN Society brings to you the biggest opportunity, to unfold your diplomatic skills and discuss the world issues with students from the most prestigious institutions

of the world. Empowered, they can be key agents for development and peace. If, however, they are left on society’s margins, all of us will be impoverished. Let us ensure that all young people have every opportunity to participate fully in the lives of their societies.”
Thus, the YPSMUN Society feels proud to bring to you in the Heritage rich state of Punjab and in the Royal City of Patiala- the Biggest and the Best International MUN of the region- YPSMUN 2015. The Yadavindra Public School is one of the most beautiful places on the Mall Road in Patiala. The surroundings are picturesque and ideal for a MUN Conference. So enjoy the feel of United Nations in the Imperial portals and Majestic Buildings of YPS in the month of November, this year.

Continuing with the tradition of having a Guest Speaker who has in depth knowledge and a flamboyant experience about the world and the United Nations, Ladies and Gentlemen it is a moment of great pleasure for us at YPS to introduce before you the Chief Guest, yet again another Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, for the second session of Yadavindra Public School Model United Nations Conference, H.C. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee.
H.C. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee retired recently from a distinguished career with the Indian Foreign Service that culminated in his posting as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom in 2008. He came to London following three years as Indian Ambassador to Nepal, where he was credited with skilful handling of the crisis in Kathmandu that led to the deposing of King Gyanendra and the holding of elections for a new constituent assembly. His nearly 40-year career included service in Damascus, Lusaka, Washington, Brussels, Cairo (as Ambassador) and Pretoria (as High Commissioner). He has also served as the spokesperson for the Indian Foreign Ministry and as director general of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
We hope to have an enriching experience with Amb. Mukherjee and you all. Looking forward to see you at Yadavindra Public School MP Hall tomorrow.
