Project SADAK: Keeping the Message Alive

Road safety is not merely about following rules. It is about recognising that every journey involves a responsibility — towards ourselves, towards our families, and towards every person who shares the road with us.

Under Project SADAK, volunteers of Patiala Foundation came together for the maintenance and upkeep of the Road Victims Memorial, while also organising a CHIPKAR reflective sticker awareness camp.

The Road Victims Memorial stands as a quiet reminder of lives lost on our roads and of families whose lives were changed forever by road crashes. Maintaining this space is therefore more than an act of upkeep. It is an act of remembrance, respect and responsibility.

Through the CHIPKAR initiative, volunteers continued the effort to make road users more visible, particularly during low-light and poor-visibility conditions. Reflective stickers may appear to be a small intervention, but road safety is often built through such simple, consistent and preventive measures.

What makes these initiatives meaningful is the participation of volunteers who give their time to a cause that concerns every one of us. Their efforts may not always make headlines, but they contribute to creating a stronger culture of responsibility on our roads.

We hope these efforts are noticed not merely as an activity, but as a message.

A message to drivers to slow down and stay attentive.

A message to pedestrians and cyclists to remain visible and cautious.

A message to all of us that road safety cannot be left to enforcement agencies alone.

Every road victim is more than a statistic. Every safe journey is a life protected.

Let us remember those we have lost by becoming more responsible for those who are still on the road.

Let us make visibility, vigilance and responsible road behaviour a habit rather than an exception.

Project SADAK continues its commitment towards safer roads, greater awareness and a more responsible community.

Because road safety begins with each one of us.

Celebrating Learning and Commitment to Community!

Patiala Foundation is pleased to celebrate the successful completion of the internship of Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur and Ms. Mahi Soni, students of Government College for Girls, Patiala Gcg Patiala

Their internship journey has been an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and engage with community initiatives, social responsibility, environmental awareness and grassroots action.

Through their association with Patiala Foundation, they contributed their time, ideas and enthusiasm while gaining practical exposure to the functioning of a community-based organisation and the impact of collective action.
We truly appreciate their dedication, sincerity and willingness to learn, and wish them every success as they continue to grow, learn and contribute to society.

Thank you, Ramanpreet & Mahi, for being a part of the Patiala Foundation family.

Learn. Engage. Serve. Create Impact.

🌿 EcoLabs in Action | School 08 – Sai Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Patiala

What if the ecosystem itself became the classroom?

At Sai Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Patiala, students took their first step towards discovering exactly that through a Live Environmental Laboratory Orientation under Project PRITHVI.

As we work towards establishing 10 Live Environmental Laboratories across Patiala, EcoLabs is designed to transform school campuses into spaces where students can observe, explore, experiment, learn and act—not just read about the environment in a textbook.

During the orientation, students were introduced to six living areas of environmental learning:

💧 Water Conservation — understanding how every drop matters
🌱 Soil Health — discovering the life beneath our feet
🍂 Dry Leaf Composting — turning fallen leaves into nourishment for the soil
🦋 Biodiversity Conservation — observing and protecting the life around us
🐦 Chidiya Ghar – Bird Care — creating a safer habitat for our feathered friends
🌿 Eco Club Activities — working together to turn ideas into action

The idea behind a Live Environmental Laboratory is simple: the campus becomes the laboratory, nature becomes the subject, and students become the learners, observers and young environmental practitioners.

The orientation concluded with the Eco Pledge, as students committed themselves to making more conscious choices and becoming active participants in protecting their environment.

Our sincere appreciation to Principal Mrs. Geeta Rani, the teachers and the enthusiastic students of Sai Saraswati Vidya Mandir for joining us in this journey.

With the valued CSR support of SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd., Project PRITHVI is creating opportunities for young learners to move from awareness to observation, from observation to participation, and from participation to action.

🌿 EcoLabs in Action | School 07 – New Daffodils Public High School, Patiala

Project PRITHVI continues its journey towards establishing Live Environmental Laboratories across 10 schools in Patiala.

At New Daffodils Public High School, students were introduced to six practical areas of environmental action:

💧 Water Conservation
🌱 Soil Health
🍂 Dry Leaf Composting
🦋 Biodiversity Conservation
🐦 Chidiya Ghar – Bird Care
🌿 Eco Club Activities

EcoLabs takes environmental learning beyond the classroom, encouraging students to observe, understand and take ownership of the ecosystems around them.

With the valued CSR support of SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd., Project PRITHVI is creating spaces where environmental education becomes experiential, participatory and student-led.

The session concluded with the Eco Pledge, reinforcing a simple but meaningful message: environmental responsibility begins with what we observe, understand and choose to do every day.

Our sincere appreciation to Principal Ms. Pardeep Kaur, Coordinators Ms. Sudha and Ms. Rocky, the teachers and enthusiastic students of New Daffodils Public High School for their warm participation and support.

10 schools. Live Environmental Laboratories. A generation learning by doing. 🌍💚

This Independence Day, Patiala Foundation celebrates the India that lives in all of us — in our streets and neighbourhoods, in our heritage and traditions, in our children, in our rivers and trees, and in every citizen who chooses to make a difference.

Our freedom comes with a responsibility:
to serve, to care, to preserve, to include, and to leave behind a better India than the one we inherited.

Let us honour the sacrifices that gave us our freedom by turning that freedom into purpose, participation and positive action.

🇮🇳 Patiala Foundation wishes you and your family a very Happy Independence Day.

Jai Hind. 🇮🇳

🌿 EcoLabs in Action | School 05 – KV-2, Patiala

From awareness to action, the EcoLabs journey continues.

Under Project PRITHVI, Patiala Foundation conducted an engaging EcoLabs Orientation Session at KV-2, Patiala, taking another step towards our vision of establishing Live Environmental Laboratories across 10 schools in the city.

Supported by the valued CSR partnership of SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd., EcoLabs brings environmental learning beyond the classroom—encouraging students to observe, explore, experiment, record, reflect and act.

Students were introduced to the key pillars of the programme:

💧 Water Conservation
🌱 Soil Health
🍂 Dry Leaf Composting
🦋 Biodiversity Conservation
🐦 Chidiya Ghar – Bird Care
🌿 Eco Club Activities

The orientation encouraged students to look at their surroundings differently—understanding that every drop of water, handful of soil, dry leaf and bird has a role to play in our ecosystem.

The session also concluded with the Eco Pledge, inspiring students to take greater responsibility for protecting nature and adopting sustainable practices in their everyday lives.

Through Project PRITHVI, we continue to work towards:

✅ Transforming schools into Live Environmental Laboratories
✅ Making environmental education experiential and action-oriented
✅ Nurturing young minds to become responsible environmental stewards

Our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Laxmi Singh, Principal; Ms. Suman, Coordinator; the teachers; and the enthusiastic students of KV-2, Patiala, for their warm participation and support in beginning this meaningful EcoLabs journey.

Because when children learn to observe their environment, they begin to understand it—and when they understand it, they can protect it. 🌍💚
