Patiala Foundation, in collaboration with the District Administration and with the support of KATALINE Ltd., organised a Reflective Safety Vest Distribution Drive for employees of Tenneco and Milkfood at Bahadurgarh, Patiala, under Project SADAK (Glow for Life).

The initiative marked the sixth Mega Event under Project SADAK, taking the Foundation’s road-safety efforts beyond awareness and into practical, preventive action.

Held at M/s Tenneco under the guidance of Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, the programme brought together representatives of the District Administration, Labour Department, industry and civil society with a shared focus on safer mobility and greater visibility on the roads.

Project SADAK is built on a simple philosophy: road safety is not only about responding after an accident; it is about preventing one. Small, practical measures when adopted consistently can create safer habits, safer workplaces and safer roads.

With this initiative, 372 reflective safety jackets have so far been facilitated by Patiala Foundation across various organisations.

Patiala Foundation expresses its gratitude to the District Administration, Labour Department, Tenneco, Milkfood, KATALINE Ltd. and all participating stakeholders for strengthening this shared commitment to preventive road safety.

256 CHIPKAR Camps. One Promise — Safer Roads. ❤️

Today, the Patiala Foundation volunteer team conducted its 256th CHIPKAR Reflective Sticker Camp at 22 No. Phatak, Patiala. But today’s camp felt a little more special.

Leading the team was Mr. Lovish, one of the founders of the group of volunteers who, seven years ago, took the initiative to start a Road Safety Club at Punjabi University.
Seven years.
And the same commitment to the cause. ❤️

What began as a small group of young volunteers believing that something could and should be done for road safety has grown into a movement that continues to touch thousands of lives.

It is incredible how some people simply keep showing up. No spotlight. No expectation. Just the quiet conviction that if we can make one road, one vehicle, one journey a little safer, it is worth doing.

That is the spirit of volunteering.
That is the spirit of CHIPKAR.
And that is the spirit that keeps Patiala Foundation moving forward.

Here’s to every volunteer who has stood on a roadside, sticker in hand, choosing to make a difference. ❤️

🌿 EcoLabs in Action | From Learning to Doing

Project PRITHVI takes another step forward at Greenwell School, Patiala, as students moved from environmental awareness to hands-on action.

As part of the EcoLabs programme, we conducted the Dry Leaf Composter (DLC) and Chidiya Ghar – Bird House Activity, installing both within the school campus.

🍂 Dry Leaf Composter – turning fallen leaves and garden waste into a valuable resource through composting.
🐦 Bird Houses – creating safe spaces for birds and encouraging students to observe and care for urban biodiversity.

The activity gave students an opportunity to learn by doing and understand that simple actions within their school campus can contribute to a healthier ecosystem.

With Project PRITHVI, EcoLabs is transforming schools into Live Environmental Laboratories—where students don’t just learn about nature, but actively participate in caring for it. 🌱💚

✨Visibility Saves Lives | Project SADAK✨

As part of Project SADAK, Patiala Foundation distributed reflective jackets to the workers of Nexgen Laminators Pvt. Ltd., with the support of KATALINE Ltd. under their ‘Kataline Glow for Life’ initiative.

For workers who operate around moving vehicles, roads, industrial premises or low-light environments, visibility is a critical component of safety. Reflective jackets help make individuals significantly more visible to motorists and vehicle operators, particularly during early mornings, evenings, night-time operations, poor weather and other low-visibility conditions.

A simple reflective jacket can provide an important visual cue from a considerable distance, giving drivers additional time to recognise a worker and respond appropriately. It is a small intervention, but one that can make a meaningful difference in preventing avoidable accidents.

At Patiala Foundation, Project SADAK is our continuing effort to promote a culture of responsible road use and safer mobility. We believe road safety extends beyond motorists and pedestrians, it must also include the thousands of workers whose daily responsibilities bring them into proximity with traffic and moving vehicles.

We are grateful to the management of Nexgen Laminators Pvt. Ltd. for supporting this initiative and for recognising the importance of worker safety. We also thank KATALINE Ltd. for extending their support through the Kataline Glow for Life initiative and helping us take this simple but meaningful safety measure to those who need it.

Safety is not always about complicated solutions. Sometimes, it begins with simply making sure that a person is seen.

✨Building Safer, More Sensitive Workplaces | POSH Awareness Session✨

Patiala Foundation conducted a sensitisation session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act for the employees of Nexgen Laminators Pvt. Ltd. as part of the gender sensitisation campaign being undertaken by their organisation.

The session focused on the importance of regulated and respectful conduct at the workplace, understanding appropriate workplace behaviour, and creating an environment where concerns can be raised without hesitation. The participants were also familiarised with the grievance redressal mechanism, the role of the Internal Committee and other important provisions under the POSH Act.

For Patiala Foundation, initiatives such as these are an important part of community building under Project INF, where awareness, dialogue and responsible participation are encouraged to create stronger and more conscious communities.

We commend the authorities at Nexgen Laminators Pvt. Ltd. for providing a platform where constructive conversations on gender sensitivity, workplace conduct and legal awareness can take place. Such efforts demonstrate that creating safer workplaces requires more than compliance, it requires a culture of respect, accountability and sensitivity.

We also encourage more private organisations to come forward and adopt such practices. Regular awareness sessions and open conversations can play a meaningful role in preventing harassment, empowering employees and fostering healthier workplace environments.
