We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing away of Shri.Radhakrishnan Pillai last night at Mangalore.
He was an inspiring teacher, thinker, author and a proud torchbearer of India’s knowledge traditions.
To the world he was known as the author of Corporate Chanakya, who brought the timeless brilliance of Acharya Chanakya into the language of modern leadership and management. But to many within Chinmaya Mission, he was also a sincere sevak, a committed CHYK, and a humble student of Indian wisdom.
His association with Chinmaya Mission was deep and longstanding. His journey with Chanakya studies was greatly shaped by Chinmaya International Foundation, where he formally studied Kautilya’s Arthashastra and helped make these profound ideas accessible to contemporary society.
Even while gaining national and international recognition, he remained closely connected with the Mission’s activities and values.
From his younger days in CHYK, he actively participated in and contributed to the Mission’s work with great enthusiasm.
He served through Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth initiatives, conducted weekly CHYK classes at Chinmaya Mission Mulund on Sundays, took the CHYKs on temple-discoveries, delivered talks on Chanakya to Yuvaveers, in National CHYK Camps, podcasts, college talks and delivered thought-provoking talks at several Indian Knowledge Systems seminars and forums organised by the Mission.
What stood out was not merely his scholarship, but the sincerity with which he lived and shared these teachings.
He was a sincere devotee of Poojya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, loved and admired Poojya Guruji. He also beautifully carried forward the spirit of Guru-seva into family life, encouraging his children too to participate in CHYK and remain connected with the Mission’s activities and ideals.
Despite his stature and accomplishments, he remained approachable, warm, rooted and deeply respectful of the Guru-parampara that shaped him.
