Mebo Rural Haat*

The inauguration program of the newly established Rural Haat at Mebo was successfully conducted by the Sisang Indigenous Area Development Society (SIADS). The project was sponsored by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

The Rural Haat was formally inaugurated by Shri R S Ranga Rao, General Manager, NABARD, in the esteemed presence of ZPM Amping Borang, Ratan Madam, and Shri Nitya Mili, District Development Manager, NABARD.

The Rural Haat at Mebo aims to provide a dedicated marketing platform for local farmers, artisans, and SHG members to sell their indigenous produce, handicrafts, and value-added products directly to consumers. This initiative is expected to boost the rural economy, promote self-reliance, and preserve traditional skills.

The program witnessed active participation from PRI members, SHG representatives, farmers, and villagers. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of SIADS and NABARD in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthening the rural marketing infrastructure.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and an inspection of stalls set up by local producers.
