We had a wonderful opening of *Borrowed Identities*, an exhibition by Hungarian artist István Erőss, at the Liszt Institute Delhi on 6th February.

We are truly overwhelmed by the warm response and the incredible turnout to support this exhibition. The evening was made even more meaningful with a powerful performance by Chintan Upadhyay — Still Condition — developed in response to István’s body of work, reflecting on nature, action, and human presence.

It was an evening of thoughtful encounters, shared conversations, and deep engagement with art in its many forms. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this opening so special.

We are pleased to share that Borrowed Identities by Hungarian artist István Erőss is featured as part of India Art Fair Parallel 2026 . The exhibition is co-curated by Sandarbh and Haute Services Art Advisory.

Borrowed Identities presents a selection of Erőss’s digital works from his ongoing series Body in the Landscape. In these works, the artist places his own body within natural terrains, exploring questions of presence, perception, and coexistence. Rooted in action-based and nature-oriented practices, the works reflect a sustained engagement with the landscape—where it functions both as a condition and as material.

Being included in situates the exhibition within a wider network of independent and institution-led practices unfolding across the city during India Art Fair, extending the dialogue beyond the fair grounds.

Today’s Open Studio at the Sandarbh Artist Residency didn’t stay inside four walls. It rolled out into the streets of Partapur.

Our artists: Shilpeksh Khalorkar, Santosh P, and Harsh Patel, took their works on carts and moved through the town, from Bohra Wadi to Char Khamba to Ganesh Mandir. This gave way to curiosity, conversations, laughter, and a steady flow of people from all age groups and communities stopping to look, ask questions, and engage.

At one point, vegetable vendors and the kabadiwala parked their carts right next to the artworks, clearly sensing good footfall and good business. Art meets street economics.

We were overwhelmed by the response.
More stories and deeper dives into each artist’s work are coming soon.
