The Rural Accelerator Program brought together aspiring homestay hosts, experiential tourism entrepreneurs and changemakers with a shared vision — to reimagine rural tourism and create sustainable livelihood opportunities across Goa.

From learning and mentorship to ideas, pitches and new beginnings, this short film captures the people, stories and spirit that made the journey truly special. ✨

Supported by Airbnb and implemented by the Forum for Integrated Development and Research (FIDR), in association with the Goa Livelihoods Forum, the program is a step towards strengthening community-led tourism and empowering local entrepreneurs to build enterprises rooted in Goa's culture, communities and hinterlands.

🌿 Celebrating Rural Ideas. Empowering Local Entrepreneurs. Creating Impact.

Today, we celebrate the Felicitation Ceremony of the Rural Accelerator Program at Kala Academy, Goa — a milestone in our journey to nurture rural entrepreneurship and strengthen Goa's hinterland tourism ecosystem.

Supported by Airbnb and implemented by the Forum for Integrated Development and Research (FIDR), in association with the Goa Livelihoods Forum, the Rural Accelerator Program has brought together passionate homestay hosts and tourism entrepreneurs, equipping them with mentorship, capacity building and opportunities to turn promising ideas into sustainable rural enterprises.

The ceremony will also recognise and felicitate outstanding participants, with grant support being awarded to the Top 5 ideas to help accelerate their entrepreneurial journeys.

As we celebrate our participants today, we also celebrate the potential of Goa's villages, local communities and rural entrepreneurs to shape a more inclusive and sustainable tourism future. 🌱

The Miss Yashashwini 2026 pageant, organized by the Goa Livelihoods Forum (GLF) in collaboration with JCI Mapusa and The Wow Tribe, illuminated Panjim this Sunday with a vibrant celebration of young women entrepreneurs. The event, which crowned Roja Kholkar as the winner alongside runners-up Poorvi Chodankar and Akshaya Redkar, was graced by Chief Guest Deepali Naik (Project Director – RD South Goa) and Guests of Honour Aarti Neemkar (Director – Global Chamber Goa) and Sakala Appachu Debrass (Miss India Runner-Up). International singing sensation Hema Sardesai also joined as a celebrity guest, inspiring contestants as they navigated rounds ranging from business presentations to talent showcases. The evening further served as the launchpad for “The Wow Tribe,” a mentorship platform founded by Massarat Kang and Divyaa R Sharma to cultivate the next generation of women business leaders.
While the pageant celebrated future enterprise, the true heart of the program was the felicitation of ten Safai warriors from the CCP. Recognized by the GLF for their tireless commitment to maintaining the city’s cleanliness, these frontline workers received a standing ovation, bridging the gap between entrepreneurial glamour and essential community service. This blend of purpose and prestige was supported by a wide array of partners, including the Manas Developers , bank of Baroda, Twist and Many, reinforcing the message that modern leadership is defined by both innovative vision and a deep respect for those who serve the society.

Goa Livelihoods Forum (GLF) successfully hosted the inaugural HealthyHer Goa medical camp at Assnora Panchayat Hall on January 31st, 2026. In collaboration with Sigma Laboratories Pvt Ltd, JCI Mapusa, and Manipal Hospitals, and supported by GOA STATE RURAL LIVELIHOOD MISSION (GSRLM) स्त्रीशक्ती, the event empowered 42 women with crucial antenatal and postnatal care insights from Dr. Mansa, Gynaecologist, and general health check-ups led by Dr. Brijesh of Manipal Hospitals. And free health insurance consultation and advice from SMK financial.
