Project Sahyog Begins a New Chapter in Chimbel

On 1st July 2026, a new milestone was achieved with the inauguration of the Project Sahyog – Skill Development & Livelihood Initiative Centre in Chimbel.

The event brought together more than 40 women from the community, all united by a shared vision of learning, earning, and becoming financially independent.

We were honoured to have Dr. Sandhya Kini Mayenkar as the Chief Guest. Through her inspiring life journey, she encouraged every woman present to believe in their own abilities, overcome challenges, and pursue dreams with determination. Her words served as a powerful reminder that resilience, hard work, and self-belief can transform lives.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Rahila Khan, whose encouraging words motivated the participants to take the first step towards self-reliance and collective growth.

This initiative is built on a foundation laid in **2021**, when women from the community received training in a wide range of livelihood skills, including:
✨ Bag Making
✨ Tie & Dye
✨ Mushroom Cultivation
✨ Pickle Making
✨ Baking
✨ Tailoring
✨ Embroidery
✨ Beautician Training

Although the women acquired valuable skills, many were unable to move forward due to the lack of a common workspace, market access, and opportunities to showcase their products.

Today marks a turning point.

The women have collectively resolved to meet at the centre every day on a rotational basis, work together, support one another, and transform their skills into sustainable livelihoods. This centre is more than just a workspace—it is a place of hope, collaboration, confidence, and new beginnings.

At **Project Sahyog**, we believe that empowering women with opportunities is the first step towards stronger families and more resilient communities.

**"Empower Women, Transform Families, Build Stronger Communities."**

We thank every participant, supporter, volunteer, and well-wisher who made this day memorable. Together, we are creating opportunities, restoring dignity, and building a future where every woman has the chance to thrive.

Learning Beyond the Classroom!

On 27th June 2026, 36 children from Udant Learning Centres around panjim , along with our staff and volunteers, enjoyed an exciting educational field trip to the Science Centre from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The visit was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Miramar, who provided the bus, entry tickets, and delightful goodies for every child.

We were honoured by the presence of Dr. Sandhya Kini Mayenkar and President Mr. Sandesh Gadvi, who spent quality time interacting with the children, making the day even more memorable.

From exploring fascinating science exhibits to laughing and playing in the beautiful garden, the children were filled with curiosity, excitement, and joy. Experiences like these help young minds connect learning with the real world, inspire creativity, build confidence, and encourage them to dream bigger.

A heartfelt thank you to the Rotary Club of Miramar for investing in our children's future and making learning such a joyful adventure. Together, we are creating opportunities that inspire lifelong learning.

Every Child Deserves a Chance to Learn.

While most children carry school bags, many children from marginalized families carry the burden of poverty and responsibility.

Children from marginalized families often miss school as their parents move from one place to another for work. Many older children are forced to stay back and care for their younger siblings, leaving their own dreams, their education is often left behind losing the opportunity to learn, read, write, and dream.

Seeing this harsh reality and to make change , udant started learning centres where older children could bring their younger siblings while becoming part of a joyful learning environment. Here they learn to read, write, understand the world around them, express themselves, and discover their potential and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. What began as a small initiative has become a place where hope is nurtured, confidence is built, and dreams are given a chance to grow.

The initiative started from under the trees ,to shed,to classrooms a small effort ,simple yet life-changing step to change a child's future. Our endeavor is to ensure that no child is denied an education simply because life has placed obstacles in their path. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to belong, and to become someone who can shape their own future.

Education is not just about books—it is about giving every child the chance to dream, achieve, and break the cycle of poverty.

Together, let us stand with every child and give them opportunities to learn, dream, and build a better life through education ensuring that no dream is left behind.

Serving Hope, One Meal at a Time

With compassion and commitment, we continue serving nutritious meals to poor families, women, and underserved children through our partnership with Street Providence and the Food Bank. Every meal shared brings hope, dignity, and care to those facing food insecurity.

A heartfelt thank you to Jinial Kumar for his unwavering dedication to collecting and distributing food, rain or shine. Our sincere appreciation also goes to Mr. Mario Fernandes for ensuring this mission continues whenever needed in the absence of Jinial to pick up the food from the factories

Starting an initiative is easy—sustaining it takes commitment. This journey is possible because of their selfless service and support. Together, we are making a lasting difference, one meal at a time.

Udant's Journey of Food Distribution

Nutritious food has played a vital role in the healthy growth and development of children. Regular access to balanced meals has improved their physical health, strengthened their immunity, and reduced the risk of illness. Proper nutrition has also enhanced their concentration, energy levels, and participation in learning and daily activities. As a result, the children are healthier, more active, and better equipped to grow, learn, and achieve their full potential.

With compassion and commitment, we continue our journey of serving nutritious meals to poor families, women, and underserved children in our communities. Through our valuable collaboration with Street Providence and Food Bank, we have been able to reach those facing food insecurity and ensure that no one is left behind.

This initiative is more than just distributing food—it is about restoring dignity, spreading hope, and strengthening community bonds. Every meal shared reflects our collective effort to support vulnerable individuals and families, especially children and women, who deserve access to nutritious food and a better quality of life.

Together, we are creating a community where care, kindness, and solidarity make a lasting difference.

"Feeding the hungry is not just an act of charity; it is an act of humanity."

Empowering Women Through Education

At our Eklati Curtorim centre, women confidently took a step forward by appearing for their exams, showing determination and commitment to learning.

Meanwhile, at our Chimbel centre, women are preparing themselves with enthusiasm and courage, getting ready to face exams after a long gap. Their spirit reflects resilience and the belief that it’s never too late to learn and grow.

We are proud of each one of them for embracing this journey of education and self-improvement.

Inculcating the Habit of Reading with the help of Bookworm mobile library

At our centre, we have made provisions to nurture and encourage the habit of reading among our children. Creating a space where books are easily accessible allows them to explore, learn, and grow through stories and knowledge.

By introducing regular reading time and guiding them through books, we aim to spark curiosity, improve language skills, and build confidence. Small steps today will help shape brighter, informed futures tomorrow.

We are also happy to share our collaboration with Bookworm, who have committed to visit every Tuesday at Aldeia. Yesterday, the children had a wonderful experience exploring books from their mobile library, discovering new stories with great excitement.
