World Trade Center (WTC) Goa took an active part in the 80th Independence Day celebrations held at Jnyan Vikas School, Porvorim, Goa on 15th August 2026

The programme featured a vibrant array of performances by the students, including group singing, Bharatanatyam dance and gymnastics. The occasion also included the felicitation of students who had secured top positions in the previous academic year, recognizing their hard work and achievements.

Mr. Cyril Desouza, Regional Director – Trade Promotion, represented WTC Goa at the celebration and addressed the students on the theme “Learning to be Independent on Independence Day"

🌍 Strengthening Goa’s Global Business Connect

WTC Goa was privileged to host Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, World Trade Center Mumbai, during his visit to Goa on 10th August 2026.

A key highlight was Dr. Kalantri’s meeting with Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, where he shared WTC Goa’s initiatives and vision for promoting trade, investment, and international business opportunities in the state. The Hon’ble Chief Minister assured his continued support to the Center’s initiatives.

Another significant milestone was the signing of an MoU between WTC Goa and Vibrant Goa Foundation, in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, to strengthen strategic collaboration and create greater opportunities for international business engagement.

The visit concluded with Dr. Kalantri addressing the distinguished delegates at Rise 2.0, in the august presence of Mr. Mauvin Godinho, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Government of Goa.

A day of meaningful engagements, strategic partnerships, and renewed commitment towards positioning Goa as a vibrant destination for global trade and investment.

On the occasion of World Handloom Day, the Directorate of Handicrafts, Textile and Coir, Government of Goa, invited Mr. Cyril Desouza, Regional Director – Trade Promotion, World Trade Center Goa, to address artisans and stakeholders at Sanskriti Bhavan, Panaji.

In his address, Mr. Desouza described the day as a celebration of India's rich culture, creativity, and handloom heritage. He highlighted that while Goa is globally renowned for its tourism and beaches, it also boasts a rich weaving tradition that deserves greater recognition.

He encouraged Goan artisans to explore international opportunities by leveraging the World Trade Center Association's network of over 300 World Trade Centers across more than 100 countries, helping showcase Goa's unique handloom products on the global stage.

World Trade Center Goa organized the seminar, "Dubai: The Business Gateway to Global Trade," on 23 July 2026, bringing together industry experts, business leaders, and trade professionals to explore Dubai's position as a leading global business hub and its growing opportunities for Indian enterprises. The seminar provided participants with valuable insights into the UAE's business ecosystem, investment climate, regulatory framework, and the strategic advantages of establishing a presence in Dubai, while also highlighting the strengthening economic partnership between India and the UAE.

Two key highlight of the programme were
1)the launch of the WTC Goa's Knowledge Report on the India–UAE Business Environment, reaffirming World Trade Center Goa's commitment to empowering businesses with valuable insights to facilitate global trade and investment.
2) announcement of
Mission 100/100 which will be launched to empower 100 Goan MSMEs achieve a combined turnover of Rs 100 crores while collaborating with each other under the ecosystem of The World Trade centers that spans 100 countries with its 300+ WTCs globally

The seminar concluded with engaging networking sessions, fostering new connections and reinforcing the shared vision of strengthening India–UAE business relations and creating new opportunities for Indian enterprises to expand globally.

WTC Goa Strengthens Engagement with JCOM to Promote Global Business Opportunities*l

World Trade Center Goa had an engaging and productive interaction with the members of JCOM, the business wing of JCI, and Taleigao Elite Table 1.0 at Hotel Park Prime, Panaji, on 15th July 2026.

Mr. Cyril Desouza, Regional Director – Trade Promotion, WTC Goa, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and presented the vast opportunities offered through the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) global network. The session highlighted how Goan businesses can leverage the WTC ecosystem to expand their global footprint through international trade, investment, and strategic partnerships.

The programme also featured insightful presentations on business financial profitability and the ancient Indian science of Vaastu, providing valuable takeaways for entrepreneurs.

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of WTC Goa's two upcoming international seminars—"Dubai: The Business Gateway to Global Trade" and "Doing Business with the United Kingdom," focusing on opportunities arising from the recently signed India–UK Free Trade Agreement. Both announcements generated enthusiastic interest among the participants.

The meeting concluded with both organisations expressing their commitment to future collaboration, with JCOM inviting WTC Goa to participate in its upcoming State-level meeting, paving the way for stronger partnerships and enhanced global business opportunities for Goa.

Launch of the Export Facilitation Cell along with a new initiative to mentor 100 SME Export Champions from Goa

A significant milestone in strengthening Goa's export ecosystem was achieved with the successful launch of the Export Facilitation Cell, a joint initiative of Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) Goa, Global Chamber Goa, and World Trade Center Goa, held on 14th July 2026.

During the event a new initiative to mentor 100 MSME Champions from Goa was also launched.
Both these This initiative aim to empower Goan Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with the knowledge, networks, and institutional support required to access international markets and build globally competitive businesses.

The programme featured insightful addresses by industry leaders and trade experts. Ms. Pallavi Salgaocar, State President of LUB Goa, Mr. Cyril Desouza, Regional Director – Trade Promotion, World kTrade Center Goa, highlighted the role of WTC Goa in connecting local enterprises with global business opportunities through the World Trade Centers Association network.

A compelling presentation by Ms. Aariti Neemkar, Executive Director of Global Chamber Goa, introduced the vision of developing 100 MSME Export Champions from Goa. Participanting delegates also benefited from expert sessions on unlocking Goa's plastic export potential by Mr. Naman Marjadi of Plexconcil and on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in global trade by Mr. Rohit Salveru, Founder of Cargo First and Blinkus.ai.

The event concluded with an engaging networking session, reaffirming the collective commitment of all partner organisations to position Goa as a vibrant, export-ready State and to create new opportunities for Goan enterprises in the global marketplace.

WTC Goa convened a strategic meeting on 9th July 2026 with leading stakeholders from the logistics and business sectors to discuss strengthening Goa's agro-food exports and the supporting EXIM infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Prasad Satardekar (Director, Zuari Infinity Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Aakash Parcha (Founder & CEO, Mahalaxmi Estates Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Vishnu Prasad (Senior Manager – Business Development, Delta Ports Mormugao Terminal Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Cyril Desouza (Regional Director – Trade Promotion, WTC Goa), and Ms. Sonia Rocha (Manager – Trade Promotion, WTC Goa).

Discussions focused on Goa's export potential for value-added agro-food products such as garlic paste and mushrooms, the EXIM facilities available at the ICD Balli and Manohar International Airport, Mopa, as well as the new Central FSSAI licensing requirements for food exports.

The meeting also highlighted the initiatives of Delta Ports Mormugao Terminal to promote green cargo movement between Mormugao Port and JNPT, Mumbai, creating more efficient and sustainable logistics solutions for exporters.

WTC Goa remains committed to fostering partnerships that strengthen Goa's export ecosystem, enhance global market access, and create new opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, and MSMEs through international trade.

WTC Goa Strengthens Financial Ecosystem Through Strategic Engagement with Leading Chartered Accountants

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the business support ecosystem in Goa, WTC Goa held a fruitful meeting with CA Yogesh Kulkarni, CEO & Founder of GFP Management Consulting Services, and CA S. B. Patil, Partner of S. B. Patil & Co. Both are eminent Chartered Accountants with vast experience in audit, taxation, finance, and business advisory services.

The meeting explored avenues for strategic collaboration to enhance financial literacy, tax compliance, and access to expert advisory services for Goa's MSMEs. By leveraging the combined expertise of these distinguished professionals, WTC Goa aims to create meaningful initiatives that will empower entrepreneurs, strengthen financial governance, and contribute to the sustainable growth of the MSME sector in the state.
