Mr. Ronit, a resident of Silvertone Society, Chandigarh for 17 years, has been caring for the nearby community dogs at his own expense — providing food, medical care and vaccinations.
Over the past year, he says the dogs faced cruelty and repeated attempts at relocation. Only three dogs remain.
A small temporary shelter was created to protect them from rain, winter and road traffic, helping keep both animals and people safer.
Following a complaint, the dogs were reportedly labelled “aggressive.” However, according to Ronit, an ABC inspector assessed all three dogs and found them calm, sterilised, fit and healthy.

Mr. Ronit says that the community dogs he cared for were subjected to repeated incidents of cruelty. He alleges that dogs were injured after being run over by vehicles, while some were allegedly taken away deliberately.
He says there were also multiple attempts to relocate the dogs, and that after these incidents, only three community dogs remain in the area.

🐕“𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭” — 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬?
According to Mr. Ronit, one of the complaints raised by a resident concerned the small temporary shelters being treated as an alleged encroachment outside the society premises.
If the location of a shelter is unsuitable, why can an alternative location not be identified?
If cleanliness is the concern, why not establish conditions for maintaining it?
If safety is the concern, why not work together to make the arrangement safer?
Why should the answer automatically be removal?

🐕𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 “𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞.” 🐾
According to Mr. Ronit, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh was approached for removal of the shelters and dogs, with the dogs allegedly being described as aggressive.
But the subsequent assessment, as narrated by Ronit, told a different story.
An Animal Birth Control (ABC) inspector examined the three dogs, including their behaviour, sterilisation status and fitness.
According to Ronit, the assessment was positive and did not establish the dogs as aggressive.
That detail matters.
Because before an animal is labelled dangerous, there should be evidence.
A frightened community dog is not necessarily an aggressive dog.
A dog living on a public road is not automatically a threat.
And a resident who feeds and cares for animals is not automatically creating a public nuisance.
Facts should come before labels.

Let us choose coexistence over conflict, compassion over cruelty, and humanity over indifference.

Spain is facing one of its most challenging emergencies of the year. Multiple fast-moving fires, intensified by an extreme , strong winds, and prolonged dry conditions, have forced thousands of residents to evacuate, while brave continue risking their lives around the clock to protect communities, forests, and wildlife.

At Anhad Aarjav Foundation, we stand in heartfelt solidarity with the people of during this difficult time.

सवाल पूछना देश से नफ़रत नहीं होता।

सोच बदलेगी, तभी देश आगे बढ़ेगा।

❌ "हमें क्या लेना-देना?"
❌ "ये तो हमेशा से होता आया है।"
❌ "चुप रहो, सब ठीक है।"

ऐसी सोच लोकतंत्र को मज़बूत नहीं, बल्कि कमज़ोर करती है।

एक पल रुककर सोचिए—

➡️ अगर लोग अपनी आवाज़ उठा रहे हैं, तो क्यों?
➡️ अगर युवा बेरोज़गारी, शिक्षा या अन्य मुद्दों पर सवाल पूछ रहे हैं, तो क्यों?
➡️ अगर नागरिक सरकार या किसी संस्था से जवाबदेही मांग रहे हैं, तो क्या केवल सवाल पूछने से वे देशविरोधी हो जाते हैं?

कृपया बिना किसी सबूत के किसी को "Anti-National", "Desh Drohi", "Pakistani" या किसी अन्य अपमानजनक नाम से न पुकारें।

हर विरोध देश के खिलाफ़ नहीं होता।
हर असहमति गद्दारी नहीं होती।
लोकतंत्र में शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से सवाल पूछना और अपनी बात रखना हर नागरिक का संवैधानिक अधिकार है।
