जो अन्तर्जातीय विवाह को ये कहकर बेहतर बताते है कि ये diversity बढ़ा कर better genes देता है वो facts को manipulate कर रहे है। genetic depression 2 तरह के होते है 1. ज्यादा नजदीक शादी करने से होने वाला inbreeding depression जिस से बचने के लिए हम गोत छोड़कर शादी करने की प्रथा already है। 2. ज्यादा दूर शादी करने से होने वाला outbreeding depression जिस से बचने के लिए हम दूसरे समूह या जाति में शादी नहीं करते।
अगर in*******al या intercaste शादी करने से बेहतर बच्चे होते तो bantus आज european या चाइनीज लोगों से बेहतर होते क्योंकि उनके जितनी genetic डाइवर्सिटी किसी में नहीं।
Bantus में Han Chinese और North-Western Europeans की तुलना में कहीं ज्यादा heterozygosity (यानी genetic diversity) होती है, फिर भी Han Chinese और NW Europeans के genes बेहतर माने जाते हैं। उन्होंने अधिक उन्नत सभ्यताएँ बनाई हैं, विकसित समाज खड़े किए हैं, उनका IQ ज्यादा माना जाता है, और वे engineering तथा warfare में भी आगे रहे हैं।
जिस “DNA upgrade” की बात की जाती है, वह असल में outbreeding depression की ओर ले जाता है। यह बताने की जरूरत नहीं कि European-African hybrids का प्रदर्शन pure Europeans से कमजोर होता है, बल्कि North East Asian × European hybrids भी उतने स्वस्थ नहीं होते।
अगर hybrid संतान सच में बेहतर होती, तो यह सब सच नहीं होता:
