Vidya & Child works to bridge the gap for those children who have little or no access to education. It started in 1998 with the objective of providing a creative learning environment for underprivileged children. Most of the children are first generation learners and have parents who work as domestic servants, rickshaw pullers, industrial workers, plumbers & street vendors. Vidya & Chil

d offers a holistic approach through intensive life skills and Arts & Performing Arts, along with academic, financial & mentoring support. It helps each child to explore and identify the uniqueness within.

We are delighted to share that Rehan’s thoughtful response has been selected for publication in the August issue of Chakmak, a children’s magazine by Eklavya that invites young minds from across the country to respond to open-ended questions through writing, drawings, and comics.

This month, 10 of our students submitted their entries, and Rehan’s piece stood out for publication. As part of this recognition, he will also receive a complimentary copy of the magazine from the Eklavya team.

We are incredibly proud of Rehan for this wonderful achievement and for representing the spirit of curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful expression.

Our children at Vidya & Child had a wonderful time interacting with 10 volunteers from Sunwoda during an engaging and activity-filled session.

The volunteers kept the energy high with a lively FIFA & Football World Cup Quiz and an exciting game of Passing the Parcel, encouraging teamwork, participation, and lots of smiles. They also took the time to share about their professional journeys and the work they do, giving children valuable exposure to different career paths and inspiring them to dream bigger.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Col. Mullik for conducting an insightful and inspiring career guidance session for students from all Vidya & Child centres aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces.

Through his engaging session, Col. Mullik provided students with a clear understanding of the various entry pathways into the Army, Navy, and Air Force, including the Agniveer scheme. He explained the admission process, eligibility criteria, career prospects, and the many opportunities and benefits of serving the nation through the defence forces.

The session offered valuable guidance, answered students’ queries, and inspired them to pursue their aspirations with confidence and determination.

Our Class X students participated in an engaging exposure visit that combined environmental awareness, health education, and physical fitness through real-world experiences. As they explored open green spaces, outdoor fitness equipment, and recreational facilities, students gained practical insights into the importance of clean environments, respiratory health, and active living.

Learning from those who once walked the same path.

Our Class XII students had the opportunity to interact with two inspiring Vidya & Child alumni, Karan and Sakshi, who shared their unique journeys, experiences, and valuable life lessons.

Karan reflected on his journey through the GMR Electrical Training Program, speaking about the importance of discipline, time management, confidence, and overcoming workplace challenges. He encouraged students to listen, understand, and then respond—a lesson that extends far beyond the classroom.

Sakshi shared her experience of pursuing her education through NIOS, highlighting how discipline, perseverance, and consistent effort helped her grow and move forward with confidence.

These heartfelt conversations reminded our students that success is built through resilience, continuous learning, and the choices we make every day. We are grateful to our alumni for returning to inspire the next generation with their stories.
