India has changed its waste rules… but have we changed our habits?”

The SWM Rules 2026 are not just a policy update —
They’re a complete reset of how waste is managed in India. ♻️

- 4-bin segregation at source
- Mandatory composting of wet waste
- Legal compliance for bulk generators
- Formal recognition of waste pickers
- A “zero waste to landfill” vision

And most importantly —
This is no longer a choice. It’s a responsibility.

If you generate waste (and we all do),
These rules apply to you.

No dignity, no cleanliness.

On this Ambedkar Jayanti, we bow our heads to the thousands of hands that work tirelessly every single day — sweeping our streets, clearing our waste, and keeping our cities livable. Their labour is invisible to many, yet essential to all.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar dedicated his life to fighting for the dignity of those pushed to the margins. The least we can do is see, respect, and honour the people who carry that burden every day.

Dignity is not a privilege. It is a right.

Recycling today. Rebuilding tomorrow.

What if waste wasn’t waste, but a resource?

At Lending Hands Foundation, we are turning this idea into action-driving awareness, changing behaviours, and making segregation at source a daily habit.

The impact as an implementing partner so far:
• 31,889 kg dry waste collected and 7,354 kg recycled
• 3391.94 kg dry waste collected this year alone.

The real shift?
2,150 kg of plastic turned into school benches, exam boards, and mementos-
waste you can now see, use, and feel.
From classrooms to communities, a recycling movement is growing.

Because the future isn’t disposable.
It is reusable. It is responsible. It is ours to protect.

Be a part of the change. Start segregating today.

You became part of it.

Here’s to growing stronger, reaching farther, and touching many more lives in the years ahead.

2025 marked a powerful year of ex*****on, collaboration, and measurable impact through the Nirmal Datawali initiative.

As the supporting partner of Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR – Community Connect Program, Lending Hands Foundation worked closely with communities, institutions, and youth leaders to strengthen local waste management systems and drive sustainable behavior change.

Together, we built essential infrastructure, activated waste collection and segregation systems, and transformed plastic waste into functional community assets such as recycled benches. The initiative not only reduced environmental burden but also strengthened local ownership — turning collective intent into meaningful transformation.
