Sachin Desai, Founding Engineer at AppSentinels, discusses the startup's work in complete API and AI lifecycle security, built to address the deeper application-security challenges introduced by APIs and, more recently, AI agents. Sachin noted that AppSentinels is designed to protect applications across their full lifecycle, whether agentic, traditional, or deployed through MCP, spanning testing before production and protection in production. He added that most of the company's customers are Indian enterprises, positioning AppSentinels as a made-in-India cybersecurity solution addressing an evolving threat landscape shaped by AI adoption.

Being closer to the customer and their pain points, GCCs can combine with Deeptech innovation to solve real business problems, with both serving as critical, complementary parts of the ecosystem.

Tharun Kumar, Founder of EcoSTP Technologies, discusses the startup's biomimicry-based sewage treatment technology, which treats wastewater without power, chemicals, or operators by replicating the digestive process of a cow's stomach. Tharun noted that EcoSTP has reclaimed over 10 billion litres of sewage to date, with customers across 24 states in India and an expanding presence in Bangladesh, the Maldives, and parts of Africa. The company is also working with IIT Jammu on a new set of bacteria for chemical effluent treatment, with a related patent application in progress alongside the Principal Scientific Adviser's office.

Dr. Rutooj Deshpande, Founder and CEO of Symlionics, discusses the startup's physics-informed AI models for battery intelligence, built to improve reliability and lifespan for batteries used in electric mobility, grid-scale storage, data centres, and aviation. Dr. Deshpande noted that much of the battery industry currently faces reliability and profitability challenges due to limited understanding of how batteries perform and degrade over time, a gap Symlionics addresses by combining deep battery chemistry data with operating data. The company counts Ford Motor Company and ExxonMobil among its customers, with most of its client base currently in the US and active conversations underway with companies in the UK, Japan, and India.

Sanjeev Thukral, Founder and CEO of neurIOT Labs, discusses the startup's agentic AI solution for automating the health insurance claims process, aimed at reducing treatment denials for patients. Sanjeev noted that neurIOT Labs has built a sovereign AI solution with its own trained models and agentic AI platform, and has filed two patents covering how the system extracts knowledge from health records and processes prior authorizations and claims. The company is working toward a single integrated platform for health and life insurance claims, combining a data foundation layer with agentic AI capabilities.

Nasscom Deeptech announced the winners of Emerge 50 Awards 2026, with PwC India as Knowledge Partner. Now in its sixteenth edition, the awards recognize Indian startups building at the frontier of Deeptech.

Drawn from 750 applications across 40+ cities and 11 technology domains, this year's cohort is notably mature: 83% of applicants were already at advanced technology-readiness, and 39% fully commercialized.

Over the past three editions, 150 featured startups have collectively raised over $875 million and generated more than $420 million in cumulative revenue since 2022, employing 8,000 to 10,000 professionals across India, the US, Canada, Singapore, and the UK.

Among this year's 50 winners: 86% have raised funding, 78% hold registered IP, 78% are revenue-generating, and 54% are fully commercialized at TRL 9. Mobility & Logistics leads with 8 companies, followed by Healthtech & Biosciences, Energy & Climate Tech, and Cybersecurity & Quantum with 7 each. Bengaluru accounts for 38% of winners, and 34% of winning teams include a woman founder.
