🦅🌿 **Celebrating International Vulture Awareness Day with Nature-Friendly Art!** 🌿🦅

To mark **International Vulture Awareness Day – 5th September**, **Eco Voice Trust, The Nilgiris**, organised an **Eco-Friendly Drawing Competition** at Government Higher Secondary School, Masinagudi.

🎨 **55 students** actively participated and created beautiful vulture and nature-themed drawings using **natural and organic materials** such as:
🌾 Millets
🌿 Turmeric
☕ Coffee
🍵 Tea powder
🌱 Mud
🖤 Charcoal

The programme was conducted in collaboration with **Canara Bank, Yellahalli Branch, The Nilgiris**, to encourage environmental awareness and sustainable creativity among school students.

🦅 The Nilgiris is an important stronghold for the **White-rumped Vulture and Indian Vulture**, and protecting these magnificent scavengers is essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems.

As highlighted by **Manigandan S., Founder, Eco Voice Trust**:

“Vultures play an important role in maintaining the health of the ecosystem by naturally disposing of animal carcasses. Protecting vultures is therefore important for biodiversity and ecosystem health.”

🏆 Certificates were presented to the participating students in appreciation of their enthusiastic involvement.

🙏 Special thanks to the **Headmaster, teachers, students, Canara Bank, Yellahalli Branch**, and everyone who supported this meaningful conservation awareness programme.

🌿 **Awareness Programme at the Masikarupendaiyan Festival, Mudumalai Tiger Reserve** 🌿

From **7–9 June 2026**, **Eco Voice Trust**, in collaboration with the **Mudumalai Tiger Reserve**, conducted an environmental awareness programme during the **Masikarupendaiyan Temple Festival**, held inside the forest near Anaikatti and managed by the local Irula tribal community.

The festival, celebrated annually after the arrival of the first monsoon rains, attracts thousands of devotees from **Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala**.

During the programme, awareness was created on:
♻️ Avoiding single-use plastics
🔥 Preventing forest fires
🚯 Keeping the forest free from litter, including liquor bottles and other waste

This marks the **third consecutive year** that Eco Voice Trust has conducted awareness activities during this festival. This year, the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve implemented strict eco-friendly protocols, with dedicated support from Forest Department staff, police personnel, volunteers, and the temple management committee to ensure a clean and pollution-free celebration.

Eco Voice Trust sincerely appreciates the leadership of the Deputy Director, Masinagudi Division, the Forest Department, and the temple committee for their commitment to protecting our forests while preserving cultural traditions.

Together, we are working towards making every celebration a **Green Festival**—where faith and nature thrive together. 🌱💚

The Eco Voice Trust team participated in the Annual Tamil Birders Meet held at KSR College of Engineering, Erode. The Tamil Birders Meet is conducted in a different district every year, and this year it was organised in Erode district. Approximately 200 birders participated in the meet, and interestingly, a large number of children also took part.

The Eco Voice Trust team was proud to participate in this event, which provided a great opportunity for collaboration with young birders. We hope to work together with the Tamil Birders Meet organisation in future conservation activities.

He is committed to protecting both. He has volunteered in tiger and elephant census activities and has conducted several awareness programs for school students on the importance of biodiversity and conservation. His long-term goal is to empower local tribal communities to become strong conservation leaders.
