AAKAAR is a delhi –based developmental humanitarian civil society with the prime objective of empowerment of women for self-reliane’ and women safety by a group of youth.we believe that the high rate of poverty,illiteracy,cultural subjugation of women,a general lack of social-poli
tical awareness,severe neglect in terms of health,economic exploitation are the key factors which need to be tackled in all progarmmes aiming at changing life living of women in our society. Aakaar is working primarily with the urban girls (service women,school and collage girls) and children from underprivileged society. Aakaar is committed to ensuring women and child related issues for the most vulnerable populations in india.Aakaar addresses social issues such as voilence against women,women empowerment,child prostitution,child traffacing,educational opportunities for underprivileged children from th slums. Aakaar is unique in being one of the few NGO’s globally,which is committed to the women socially and economically empowerment through providing skills and vocational training,protect from voilence through self defence training.Aakaar is committed to promoting respect and dignity to women and make them self reliane.Aakaar is presentally active in Delhi NCR and Jammu and Kashmir. Q:- What we do ? SELF DEFENCE TRAINING TO WOMEN/GIRLS
The school and collage going girls,working women and women even in their homes feel threatened and the fear of getting harassed lurks all the time.Aakaar is a non-profit ,non-political organisation registered under Indian Trust Act 1882.The foundation is dedicatedto work for safety,security and protection and empowerment of women with a special focus on urban working women.The Foundation started out by touching upon the main issues of personal safety of women through organising and conductin self defence workshops for women employes of corporates.The foundation proposesto address all personal security related threats that women face today in urban area and undertake such initiative that will ensure not only their right knowledge,so that they can acquire confidence to move ahead in life without any fear and play equal role for their betterment and for the betterment of the society. ECONOMIC/SOCIALLY EMPOWERMENT/SELF ENTREPRENEUR
Vocational training centres/workshop/project started in DELHI NCR and JAMMU AND KASHMIR by Aakaar.In our workshops we teach tailoring,fiber/handmade designer bags making,soft toys making,handmade wax and crystal candle making, handmade choclate making, handmade jewellary making,handmade dairy,handmade sand product making and so on so that they not only learn a way to livelihood but also support their family through the skills they have learned.The girls/womens at the centre have recieved work order from neighbouring areas.Products like night dresses,frocks,choclates , dairies,sand products etc made by orphan girls,windom womens and also finding buyers on a regular basis. We AAKAAR And New India Mission Jointly Organised And Trying To Moving All Over In India For The Awarence Of Legal Rights Of Women Like Criminal Law,Family Law, Marriage Law,Fundamental Laws etc ,Self Defence Techniques,Support System For Women And Even Aware Issues Like Sexual Harrasment,,Rape ,Snatching,Sexual Abuse, Acid Attack And So On. EDUCATION FOR ALL
The vast majority of world’s poor are women.Two-Thirds of the world’s illiterates are female.and millions of school age children not in school,the majority are girls.The current world food price crises is having severe impact on women.Around the world,millions of people eat two or three times a day but a significant percentage of women eat only once.And now many women are denying themselves even that one meal to ensure that their children are fed.Thes women are already suffering the effects of even more severe malnutrition,which inevitablywill be their children’s fate as well.The impact of this crisis will be with us for many years.When women are supported and empowered,all of society benifits.Their famillies are healthier,more children go to school,agricultural productivity improves and income increase. And for that team Aakaar also started computer and communication skill classes at jammu workshop.Atlast we would like to say in short words communities become more resilient.
