Shubhendra Rao is one of India’s leading sitar players who lived with his guru, Pandit Ravi Shankar in the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara for over 10years, assisting him in concerts and compositions all over the world. Saskia Rao-de Haas introduced the Indian cello to Indian music. She studied with Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia as well as at top institutes in the West, CODARTS and the University of Amsterdam. MUSIC 4 ALL: A GLOCALIZED MUSIC EDUCATION TO EMPOWER YOUTH: Glocalised music education is based on the classical Indian music heritage, but with a global and contemporary outlook. We apply internationally applied methods to teach music in an Indian context. The Music 4 all curriculums are unique in India. We use the Music 4 all curriculum, lesson plans and teachers for over 120 school children in Delhi. Music4 all teaches music as a subject in the classroom and conducts choirs to familiarize children with the joy of making music together. In our teacher-training program we provide musicians and teachers with the tools to become a music educator. On our website, attractive lesson plans are available for free-downloads. We will guide exceptionally talented children to develop further by teaching them personally in our Gurukul and give them the guidance they need to succeed. MUSIC COUNTS:
We organize concerts by the Music4 all choir, youth festivals, concerts with internationally renowned artists, outreach programs and random events all over the city to raise awareness of the power of music. MUSIC LAB:
We are currently developing a series of Raga books to promote Indian music education at home. We encourage and initiate research in the field of music education in India and the effect of music on all living beings.
