PFCI Delhi is currently focusing on feeding of street animals; rescue, treatment and adoption of injured animals as well as ensuring safety of animals living on the streets through initiatives like magic collars.

Good News from the Madras High Court!

Today, the Hon’ble Justice heard our case and made several important observations:

1. Muzzling of pets is not mandatory for any breed.
2. No limitation on the number of pets a pet parent can have.
3. GCC to review the total number of registrations & if needed, extend the deadline.
4. Petitioner & stakeholders can raise their concerns directly with the CVO of GCC on this matter.
5. The GCC must formulate & issue a fresh circular incorporating these directions within a week.

The Supreme Court’s recent directive to round up stray dogs is impractical and detached from ground reality.

Most States simply don’t have the shelters or infrastructure to house even a fraction of these animals. The order needs clarity, which is expected in the next hearing — and by then, many States will likely tell the Court that it’s impossible to implement as it stands.

Until then, let’s stay calm and patient.
Let’s not argue or fight with anyone.
Let’s continue to act with compassion, collaboration, and respect for the voiceless.

Together, we can ensure that humane and realistic solutions guide the way forward.
