Friendicoes

Friendicoes 45 years in service of the voiceless! In addition we look after and find homes for abandoned and rescued animals and run a mobile equine clinic! SBININBB382
(1054)

Friendicoes SECA began with tiny premises 17 sq ft in the heart of Delhi in a shopping complex, a bare shop with a curtain for its fourth wall, with no electricity or water. Within the first week of our starting a clinic cm shelter we had 27 dogs and 12 cats in residence, these being abandoned pets and hit and run animals rescued by us in a beaten down ancient fiat car belonging to the mother of

our executive member Mrs.Geeta Seshamani. Undoubtedly we were catering to a deep community need, for people continued to come to us to help the stray animals on the street that did not have a place to be safe in. Today, the city shelter has grown to triple its size, we have a country sanctuary to house our permanent residents and run a vast ABC program to control stray dog populations. A lot has changed in the past 30 years but our love and commitment remains the same. WE ARE NOT A BREEDING SERVICE AND THIS PAGE IS NOT TO BE USED TO FIND A MATE FOR YOUR DOG OR TO BUY PUPPIES. WE BELIEVE IN ADOPTION. You can directly donate here: http://www.friendicoes.org/donate

Friendicoes SECA is now in Mathura District.

In association with Nagar Nigam Mathura Vrindavan, we are working towards happier, healthier, and safer lives for street dogs.

Through this program, our team will focus on sterilisation, blood work, vaccination, microchipping, and continued care.

Because animal welfare is not just rescue. It is prevention, public health, compassion, and community working together.

Healthier street dogs mean safer neighbourhoods, fewer conflicts, and a kinder future for everyone.

You can help by volunteering, adopting, donating, and spreading awareness.

Together, we can create a more compassionate Mathura.

9 years old. Still running her own schedule.

Jalebi is fully in her grandma era. Sleep, eat, wander a little, repeat.

She has survived multiple health issues and is still going strong.

Now the real part.
She’s low maintenance, easy to manage, and perfect for someone who wants calm companionship.

If you’re considering senior dog adoption in India or looking to adopt a dog in Delhi NCR, Jalebi is the kind of dog who makes life softer.

She’s not asking for much.
Just somewhere to belong.

Be honest. Are you ready for a dog like this, or do you still want the chaos phase?

If you would like to meet her or learn more, DM us.

Misha, from Ghaziabad, was brought in after an accident with a spinal fracture, multiple wounds, and suspected tick fever. Even after severe trauma, street dogs often continue trying to move, searching for safety while their bodies are already failing.

Cases like this are medically complex. A spinal injury alone can change an animal’s life completely. Combined with infection, wounds, and illness, recovery becomes long, uncertain, and expensive.

Misha is now under treatment and receiving wound care, medication, pain management, and continuous monitoring.

Treatment for severe trauma cases like this can cost ₹15,000–₹40,000 over time.

Not every rescue ends quickly.
Some animals survive because people keep showing up for them every single day.

Save this to remember that injured animals are often still trying to survive silently.

For the longest time, my husband and I wanted to adopt a dog, but were unsure how to go about it, given our hectic lifestyles. On my birthday last year, we decided to visit the Friendicoes shelter in Behrampur, accompanied by our friend Aarti, who is a regular volunteer there. As many dogs came to greet us with wagging tails, barks and jumps, one dog came and stood by us quietly, perhaps wanting to interact but not knowing how to. This was Mija. Noticing how she stood by his side, my husband joked that she would make a good coffee table.

Fast forward three months, and we decided to foster a dog to see if we can manage to keep a pet. We reached out to Tandrali, who recommended a few dogs based on our lifestyle, and we were back at the shelter to meet the doggos. Mija was not on this list.

We met the recommended doggos, but we still remembered Mija. Having come all the way, we thought we might as well say hi to Mija. When she came to us, she flopped down by my husband, and we knew we had to take her along.

Mija came to be fostered for 3 weeks, and went from being a shy girl who barely interacted with us to a confident dog with a scary bark who loves to play fetch. Seeing her open up and bloom with us won our hearts, and we made up our minds to welcome her home.

After another round of fostering, Mija finally came to our home in March this year. She has a string of admirers among our family and friends, plays fetch every other day, and much like her humans, loves her food!!!

Though Mija is a super easy and chill dog, we have had our fair share of learning to do as first time dog guardians. Walking her every day, keeping track of her medical needs, ensuring that no food is left unattended—all have been part of the learning curve, with tremendous help from the folks at Friendicoes such as Tandrali, Mukul and Padam, and other pet parents like Aarti. We look forward to continuing our journey with Mija. Her name derived from “mi hija” literally translates to “my daughter” and that’s what she has become to us.

He was still trying.

Moti was brought in from Dakshin Puri, Dr Ambedkar Nagar, with a severe jaw injury and suspected tick fever. He was weak, exhausted, and in pain, but still trying to respond, still trying to hold on.

By the time many street dogs are rescued, their bodies have already been fighting for days.

Moti received treatment, medication, and care.
But sometimes, despite everything, the damage is too much.

Moti passed away.

Not every rescue ends in recovery.
Sometimes the kindest thing we can give an animal is comfort, treatment, and dignity in their final moments.

This is also part of animal rescue.

Save this to remember why timely rescue matters.

Blind. Fast. No brakes.

Mickey is around 6 years old and completely blind. You wouldn’t know it if you watched him for even a minute.

He is full energy. Loves balls. Loves movement. Loves being right in the middle of everything.

Now the real part.
Because of his blindness, he is protective around food. Meal times need space and structure. A home with young children is not ideal.

If you’re considering special needs dog adoption in India or rescue dog adoption in Delhi, Mickey is a reminder that disability doesn’t mean limitation.

He doesn’t see the world.
He just runs straight through it.

Be honest. Would you feel confident adopting a dog like this, or does it still feel like too much?

If you would like to meet him or learn more, DM us.

Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear.
But it is also 100% preventable through vaccination.

In partnership with HCL Foundation, Friendicoes SECA is running a free anti-rabies vaccination program for community dogs in Greater Noida.

Vaccinating community dogs protects not only them, but entire neighbourhoods, families, children, and other animals too.

If you feed, care for, or know community dogs in Greater Noida, you can help make your area safer.

Register through the Google Form linked in our bio.

Together, we can build a more compassionate, rabies-free Greater Noida.

We wanted to foster to support Friendicoes and the admirable work they do for abandoned dogs. It all started two years ago with Roshni, a little senior beagle girl who completely captured both my husband’s and my heart. We decided to adopt her, even after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer while still in our foster care. Sadly, Roshni went to heaven, leaving a huge emptiness in our hearts.

Two years later, we decided to try again with Brie, another Beagle girl, who had been moving from one foster to another. At first, my husband was hesitant—she was also a senior dog, and he was afraid of having his heart broken all over again. But once again, we were completely won over, and this amazing Brie is now part of our life forever.

Senior dogs are truly the best. They love, they sleep, they sleep some more—and then they sleep again. They are low maintenance, but wise enough to understand when you care for them and want the best for them. And for that, they will love you endlessly and reward you every single day.
