Every zero-dose and partially vaccinated child represents inequity in access to essential health services and a missed opportunity to protect life. By focusing our efforts on underserved and hard-to-reach communities, we can close the remaining equity gaps and ensure that every child benefits from the life-saving protection that vaccines provide - Dr Catharina Boehme, Officer-in-Charge, WHO South-East Asia.

Every child must receive life-saving 💉 for a healthier future.

🚨 The latest WHO and UNICEF Estimates of National Immunization Coverage (WUENIC) 2025 is out!

👧🏾 Despite the WHO South-East Asia Region sustaining high routine immunization coverage in 2025, more than a million children did not receive their first routine vaccine and over half a million children remained partially vaccinated, increasing their risk to life-threatening diseases.

WHO calls on Member States to renew their efforts to reach every child, everywhere, with life-saving vaccines.

Mercury is one of the 🔟 chemicals of major public health concern, posing risks to both human health and the environment. 🌍🦷

That's why countries across the WHO South-East Asia Region are accelerating efforts to phase out mercury-containing dental fillings and advance safer, more sustainable oral health care.

Policymakers and experts from across the Region are strengthening collaboration to phase out dental amalgam, a mercury-containing material used for dental fillings, by 2034.
