Some of the most meaningful learning happens when children are busy exploring new ideas, building friendships, and having fun.
As part of the Whole School Transformation program, we recently conducted a summer workshop for 120 children from three underserved communities across Ghatkopar, Palghar, and Mulund in Maharashtra. The workshop turned the school break into an opportunity for learning and exploration.
Designed around play-based and experiential learning, the workshop blended foundational numeracy, teamwork, creativity, wellness, and life skills through hands-on activities. Each activity encouraged children to think critically, collaborate with peers, and apply learning in practical ways.
The result was far more than active participation. Children demonstrated greater confidence, stronger collaboration skills, improved self-expression, and a growing sense of independence. From start to finish, students approached each activity with curiosity, energy, and a willingness to learn.
The enthusiastic response from parents and community members reflected the impact of creating meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. When learning is engaging, relevant, and enjoyable, children are inspired to keep exploring every day.
The summer workshop is one of the many ways the Whole School Transformation program supports holistic learning. Alongside strengthening numeracy and English comprehension, it promotes student well-being, life skills, and meaningful learning experiences that help children thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
