Founded by social activist Dr Bindeshwar Pathak, Sulabh International has been working in the fields of sanitation, social reform, and education in India for more than 55 years. Sulabh International Social Service Organisation has built more than 1.5 million toilets and helped more than 640 towns in India eliminate the practice of manual scavenging (cleaning excreta by hand). Our iconic toilet — the two-pit "Sulabh Shauchalya" — is ubiquitous not just among toilet-goers in India (where the government has built about 92 million toilets based on Sulabh's design) but also throughout the world, as its low-cost, environmentally-friendly, patent-free design has been adopted in many different developing countries as they seek improved sanitation.

Sulabh International was pleased to welcome Ekta Andani, Chinmay Marketkar and Sakshi Saraf from Dasra to the Sulabh Campus in New Delhi. The team was taken on a guided tour of the campus, offering an opportunity to experience Sulabh’s work and innovations in sanitation, hygiene and social development.

Dasra has been actively engaged in urban sanitation and WASH, with a focus on building inclusive, equitable and sustainable systems for human waste management. It anchors the National Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (NFSSM) Alliance, bringing together diverse stakeholders to advance safe and inclusive sanitation in India, while also facilitating knowledge exchange across South Asia. 265 km. 19,400 feet. 6 days. 1 extraordinary journey.

Sulabh International congratulates Sabita Mahato, associated with its Shikhar Se Sagar Tak initiative, for completing a remarkable 265-km ultra-run from Leh to Mig La Pass, reaching an altitude of approximately 19,400 feet.

Completing the challenge in just six days, Sabita braved low oxygen, sub-zero temperatures, strong winds and demanding high-altitude terrain—an inspiring display of endurance, courage and resilience.
Shikhar Se Sagar Tak (From Peaks to Shores) is Sulabh International’s environmental initiative promoting the protection of ecologically sensitive mountain and coastal regions through cleanliness, reduced plastic waste and responsible environmental practices.

265 किलोमीटर, 19,400 फीट की ऊंचाई और सिर्फ 6 दिन—एक शानदार सफर।

सुलभ इंटरनेशनल ने अपने ‘शिखर से सागर तक’ अभियान से जुड़ी सबिता महतो को लेह से मिग ला पास तक 265 किलोमीटर की अल्ट्रा रन पूरी करने पर बधाई दी है। उन्होंने करीब 19,400 फीट की ऊंचाई तक पहुंचकर यह चुनौती पूरी की।

सबिता ने यह सफर सिर्फ 6 दिनों में पूरा किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने कम ऑक्सीजन, शून्य से नीचे तापमान, तेज हवाओं और कठिन पहाड़ी रास्तों का सामना किया। उनकी यह उपलब्धि हिम्मत, मेहनत और मजबूत इरादे की मिसाल है।

‘शिखर से सागर तक’ (From Peaks to Shores) सुलभ इंटरनेशनल की पर्यावरण पहल है। इसका उद्देश्य पहाड़ी और समुद्री क्षेत्रों को साफ और सुरक्षित रखना है। इसके तहत स्वच्छता, प्लास्टिक कचरा कम करने और पर्यावरण की जिम्मेदारी से देखभाल करने को बढ़ावा दिया जाता है।

During his recent visit to Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Pankaj Jain, Controller General, Sulabh International, met senior officials of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to discuss opportunities for cooperation in sanitation, public hygiene and related areas of public service.

During the visit, he met Shri Atal Dulloo, IAS, Chief Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir; Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Tourism Department; Shri Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department; Smt. Mandeep Kaur, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department; and Shri M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department.

The discussions covered potential areas of collaboration, including sanitation infrastructure in urban areas and tourist destinations, effective operation and maintenance of public sanitation facilities, and hygiene services in healthcare institutions.

The interactions also provided an opportunity to share Sulabh International’s experience in sanitation and explore how its expertise could support efforts towards cleaner, more accessible and sustainable sanitation facilities across Jammu & Kashmir.

Shri Kumar Dilip, President, Sulabh International, paid a courtesy visit to Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
During the interaction, Shri Kumar Dilip shared an overview of Sulabh International’s work in sanitation, hygiene, social inclusion and community development, highlighting the organisation’s continued efforts towards creating cleaner, healthier and more dignified communities.
He also extended a warm invitation to Shri Keshav Chandra to visit the Sulabh Campus in New Delhi and experience Sulabh’s initiatives and legacy of social transformation.
Shri Kumar Dilip was accompanied by Shri Pinku Vishwash.

सुलभ इंटरनेशनल के प्रेसिडेंट श्री कुमार दिलीप ने भारत सरकार के खान मंत्रालय के सचिव श्री केशव चंद्र, आईएएस से शिष्टाचार मुलाकात की।

मुलाकात के दौरान श्री कुमार दिलीप ने सुलभ इंटरनेशनल के स्वच्छता, साफ-सफाई, सामाजिक समावेशन और सामुदायिक विकास से जुड़े कार्यों की जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि सुलभ स्वच्छ, स्वस्थ और सम्मानजनक जीवन के लिए लगातार काम कर रहा है।

श्री कुमार दिलीप ने श्री केशव चंद्र को नई दिल्ली स्थित सुलभ परिसर आने के लिए आमंत्रित किया। उन्होंने सुलभ की विभिन्न पहलों और सामाजिक बदलाव की उसकी लंबी यात्रा से उन्हें परिचित होने का आग्रह किया।

Mr. Kumar Dilip, President, Sulabh International Social Service Organisation, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of Bihar, at Bihar Niwas, New Delhi.

During the meeting, they held a detailed discussion on strengthening sanitation and hygiene in schools across Bihar and explored the scope for Sulabh International’s participation and contribution in this important area.

Mr. Jayprakash Jha, Honorary Controller, Bihar State Branch, Sulabh International, was also present during the meeting.

भारत में बांग्लादेश के उच्चायुक्त महामहिम मुहम्मद रियाज हमीदुल्लाह ने नई दिल्ली स्थित सुलभ परिसर का दौरा किया। उनके साथ उनके पुत्र तैयब हमीदुल्लाह भी उपस्थित रहे।

दौरे के दौरान सुलभ इंटरनेशनल के स्वच्छता, स्वास्थ्यकर जीवनशैली और सामाजिक विकास से जुड़े कार्यों और पहलों के बारे में उन्हें जानकारी दी गई।

Sulabh International Social Service Organisation, in collaboration with Sulabh-IIHH EIACP Resource Partner, organised an Awareness-cum-Cleanliness Drive on 17 September 2026 at Mahavir Enclave, Palam-Dabri Road, New Delhi, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign.

Organised under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, the initiative brought together approximately 2,000 participants, including students and teachers from Sulabh Public School and MCD Primary School, Mahavir Enclave, along with members of the local community.

The programme began with an awareness session on cleanliness, personal hygiene, sanitation practices and the importance of maintaining clean surroundings. Dr. Namita Mathur, Coordinator, Sulabh-IIHH EIACP Resource Partner, encouraged students to make cleanliness a part of their daily lives and contribute towards healthier homes, schools and communities.

The awareness session was followed by a march-past rally and cleanliness drive from Sulabh Public School to Ayyappa Temple. Students, teachers and community members came together to turn awareness into collective action, reinforcing the spirit of “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag” and the shared responsibility of building a cleaner and healthier India.

सुलभ इंटरनेशनल सोशल सर्विस ऑर्गनाइजेशन ने सुलभ-IIHH EIACP रिसोर्स पार्टनर के सहयोग से 17 सितंबर 2026 को नई दिल्ली के महावीर एन्क्लेव, पालम-डाबरी रोड में ‘स्वच्छता ही सेवा 2026’ अभियान के तहत जागरूकता एवं सफाई अभियान आयोजित किया।

इस कार्यक्रम की थीम “स्वच्छता में सहभाग – स्वच्छ भारत, विकसित भारत” थी। इसमें करीब 2,000 लोगों ने हिस्सा लिया। इनमें सुलभ पब्लिक स्कूल और एमसीडी प्राइमरी स्कूल, महावीर एन्क्लेव के छात्र-छात्राएं और शिक्षक-शिक्षिकाएं तथा स्थानीय लोग शामिल थे।

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत स्वच्छता, व्यक्तिगत साफ-सफाई, स्वच्छता संबंधी अच्छी आदतों और आसपास का वातावरण साफ रखने को लेकर जागरूकता कार्यक्रम से हुई। सुलभ-IIHH EIACP रिसोर्स पार्टनर की कोऑर्डिनेटर डॉ. नमिता माथुर ने छात्रों से कहा कि वे स्वच्छता को अपनी रोजमर्रा की जिंदगी का हिस्सा बनाएं और अपने घर, स्कूल और आसपास के क्षेत्र को साफ रखने में योगदान दें।

जागरूकता कार्यक्रम के बाद सुलभ पब्लिक स्कूल से अयप्पा मंदिर तक मार्च-पास्ट रैली और सफाई अभियान चलाया गया। छात्रों, शिक्षकों और स्थानीय लोगों ने मिलकर स्वच्छता के संदेश को काम में बदलते हुए सफाई अभियान में भाग लिया। इस दौरान “स्वच्छता में सहभाग” की भावना और स्वच्छ एवं स्वस्थ भारत बनाने की सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी का संदेश दिया गया।
