I still remember the day I was selected into Hive. I was sitting on the sofa in our drawing room when a notification popped up on the Hive interview shortlist group. I opened the Excel sheet with trembling hands, scanned through the names, and there it was. Mine.I don't remember walking to my parents' room. I remember running. I remember telling them, almost shouting, that I had made it into Hive. They smiled, congratulated me, and in that moment, a dream I had quietly carried for so long came to life.
It didn't take long for me to realise that I had found a place where I truly belonged. A home woven together by different kinds of creativity, where art turned into conversations, conversations became friendships, seniors made every beginning feel easier, every busy day ended with laughter, and the gossip never really stopped. It was the very society whose murals I had admired long before I ever imagined helping create one myself.
Every Hive application I filled, whether for Research & Content Head, Vice President, or President, had the same line “Hive feels warm. Hive feels like home.” I never wrote those words because they sounded nice. I wrote them because they were true.
If someone had told first-year Monish*ta that one day she would have the privilege of serving as the President of this society , she would have smiled... and probably laughed in disbelief. And somehow, it happened.
Looking back, every late evening in the NCR, Lower Foyer and Exhi, every board, every ambitious sculpture built with unimaginable amounts of clay and college soil, every Sunday spent in college, the wonderfully chaotic Noor and Tarang preparations, three ruined pairs of jeans (+ a top and two kurtis), endless selfies, and every deadline that SOMEHOW worked out , have all quietly led me to this moment.
Stepping into this role fills me with immense gratitude. I know the responsibility it carries, and I hope to give back even a fraction of what HIVE has given me. I promise to give this role, this society, and every opportunity it brings nothing less than my wholehearted effort.
I couldn't ask for better people to begin this journey with.Alongside my Vice President, Ainain, my Treasure
