Ravi Rai, who has dedicated the last decade to serve humanity by helping underprivileged people. These professionals have mainly volunteered their services for the cause of saving lives of little children who cannot help themselves. The focus of their work is underprivileged children, education, health, and disaster relief. The organisation has been most active in India but has also been behind su
ccessful projects in Singapore. Children of Mother Earth has founded five centres which helps orphans and underprivileged children in Northern India. They are based in both village communities, to reduce the migration of needy children from villages to the cities and in the cities themselves, to assist street and vagrant children. These homes are called “Apna Ghar” which means “Our Home”, giving the children a sense of belonging. All our homes provide functional literacy, food, medicine, clothes, entertainment, care and counselling. Children are encouraged to join main stream schools. About 200 children are studying in main stream schools. The organisation arranges for vocational training and placement for the children. Over 200 children now live permanently at these homes and have progressed way beyond our initial expectations. Arrangements are made for short stay of some run-away children, lost children and working children in need. Many children have been united with their families.
