Strengthening partnerships for empowering Micro and Nano Entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh!

As part of Dhan Samvaad (धन संवाद), an initiative by Mahindra Finance, in partnership with the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), for Financial and Digital Literacy for Nano and Micro enterprises, we held a series of productive meetings with senior State Government officials to discuss collaboration, financial literacy, digital inclusion, and convergence with government livelihood and MSME development programmes.

The team had the privilege of meeting:

🧵 Celebrating the hands that weave India’s heritage!

National Handloom Day is a celebration of India’s rich weaving traditions and the skilled artisans who keep them alive. Observed every year on 7 August, the day also commemorates the Swadeshi Movement of 1905 and its spirit of supporting indigenous craftsmanship.

Our artisans across Maheshwar, Kotpad, Pochampally and Assam came together to celebrate in a way that was close to their craft and community — wearing the weaves they created, gathering around their photo corners, sharing food from their homes and celebrating together.

Because handloom is not just about what is woven. It is about the people, skills, stories and communities behind every thread.

Here’s to celebrating their craft, valuing their work and keeping these traditions alive for generations to come.

The FMC team together celebrated the 21st Foundation Day with fun, laughter and gratitude. The day reflected on two decades of collective efforts towards strengthening MSMEs, fostering sustainable development, and building resilient clusters across India.

The occasion was made even more meaningful as we bid a heartfelt farewell to Mr. Mukesh Gulati, who stepped down as the Executive Director after two decades of visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the organisation. His legacy will continue to inspire our work and the countless lives touched through our initiatives.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also look ahead, with gratitude for the past and renewed commitment to creating greater impact in the years to come.

Harishankar Pandey, a mobile repair shop owner, had the determination to grow his business—but limited financial awareness and resources made it difficult to take the next step.

Through Aarthik Aarogyam Kendra, an initiative by HDB Financial Services in collaboration with FMC, he gained the knowledge to understand business formalisation, complete his Udyam registration, and navigate access to institutional finance. Acting on his bank's advice, he applied for a ₹5 lakh MUDRA loan and completed his ITR filing as part of the process.

His journey is a reminder that financial literacy is not just about managing money, it is about empowering entrepreneurs to enter the formal economy with confidence.

Under Aarthik Aarogyam Kendra, beneficiaries are not only gaining financial skills but are also taking meaningful steps towards business formalisation. From MSME registration and ITR filing to accessing institutional credit and government support, the programme is enabling small entrepreneurs to build stronger, more resilient, and growth-oriented enterprises.

The future of textile exports is being woven in Panipat.

What if every carpet, blanket, rug, or yarn carried its own digital identity?

The Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), in collaboration with the Micro Industries Welfare Association and Green Story, recently brought together 64 entrepreneurs from the Panipat textile cluster to explore the transformative potential of the Digital Product Passport (DPP).

Far more than a compliance requirement, DPP is creating a pathway towards greater transparency, stronger consumer trust, improved sustainability, and enhanced global competitiveness.

As part of the EU SWITCH-Asia Green Threads initiative, FMC and Green Story have launched a pilot programme that will support 50 MSMEs in adopting a simple WhatsApp-based DPP solution. Already, 17 enterprises have successfully created Digital Product Passports for their products, taking an important step towards building transparent and traceable supply chains.

The message is clear: sustainability is no longer an option; it is the future of business.

As the textile industry moves towards greater sustainability, clean energy is becoming more than an environmental choice—it's a business opportunity.

Under EU Green Threads: Enhancing Sustainability in India's Textile Recycling Clusters, the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC) organised a Solar & Energy Efficiency Awareness Workshop for textile recyclers in Amroha, bringing together industry experts and MSMEs to explore practical solutions for reducing energy costs and improving resource efficiency.

From understanding energy-efficient technologies and rooftop solar systems to discussing financing options, government incentives, and real-world case studies, participants gained valuable insights into how clean energy can strengthen business competitiveness while supporting a more sustainable future.

The enthusiastic discussions and interactive Q&A reflected the growing interest among textile recyclers in adopting solutions that are not only environmentally responsible but also economically beneficial.

Every impactful community training begins with a well-prepared trainer.

As Dhan Samvaad 3.0 begins its next phase, we conducted Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh and Panipat, Haryana to prepare our trainers for the journey ahead.

The workshops equipped trainers with the knowledge, tools and practical skills needed to deliver engaging and impactful financial and digital literacy sessions. From understanding key concepts of financial and digital literacy, government welfare schemes to learning effective participant engagement, the programme ensured every trainer is ready to create meaningful learning experiences.

Dhan Samvaad (धन संवाद), an initiative by Mahindra Finance, in partnership with the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), aims to empower nano and micro enterprises with financial and digital literacy, enabling them to make informed financial decisions, adopt digital tools and access formal financial systems and government schemes. The Training of Trainers is a key step in ensuring this knowledge reaches communities effectively and consistently.
