We were delighted to welcome Dr. Julius Spatz, Director – South Asia Division, GIZ, Dr. Julie Reviere, Country Director, GIZ India, to the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Logistics, Hyderabad, under the Project ASCENT initiative.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the impact of our skilling programs and explore collaborative pathways for enhancing employability and inclusion through industry-aligned training.

An inspiring AI session by Mr. Chetan Sethi, Delivery Head at Makers Lab, Tech Mahindra Limited, was held on 14th October at Sofia SMART Centre, Delhi sparking students’ curiosity about the future of technology. As a follow-up, students from Sofia SMART Centre and Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Digital visited Makers Lab, Tech Mahindra, where they explored live demos on AI, Metaverse, AR, and VR, and engaged with experts to learn about real-world applications. It was truly an inspiring experience for all!

Project Ascent – Alliance for Skill & Capacity ENhancement with Technology is a joint initiative by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Tech Mahindra Limited, implemented through Tech Mahindra Foundation (TMF).

Tech Mahindra Foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Tech Mahindra Ltd., a Mahindra Group company. Established in 2007, under Section 25 of the Companies Act (now Section 8), it is today active in 12 cities across India .The Foundation works in three key verticals – education, skill development and disability.
EMPLOYABILITY
SMART (Skills for Market Training) is Tech Mahindra Foundation’s flagship employability programme, with 100 centres providing skill development in 11 cities. With the launch of the first Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in 2016, the Foundation has brought its expertise in skilling to the domain of healthcare. SMART has successfully trained over 40,000 young men and women, with a placement rate of over 70% thanks to its robust processes ensuring that quality is never compromised, and its industry-led approach to skilling.
EDUCATION
In the domains of education, Shikshaantar is the Foundation’s capacity building programme for teachers, run in partnership with seven municipal corporations. The education programmes managed by the Foundation include ARISE (All Round Improvement in School Education) and ARISE+ (All Round Improvement in Special Education) which work for holistic improvements in 37 schools reaching more than 23,000 children annually.
The In-Service Teacher Education Institute (ITEI) in New Delhi is a project directly managed by the Foundation in partnership with the East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
DISABILITY
Disability is the third major area of intervention for Tech Mahindra Foundation. The Foundation works towards ensuring that persons with disabilities have the opportunity to be included in education and the economy through its education and skilling programmes. ARISE+ (All Round Improvement in Special Education) and SMART+ (Skills-for-Market Training for persons with disabilities) are the Foundation’s initiatives for persons with disabilities.
