Serendipity Arts Foundation

Serendipity Arts Foundation Man has always used the arts to tell the story of human kind. The arts are more than collections of images and designs.

Serendipity Arts Trust is an arts and cultural development trust which aims to promote new creative strategies, artistic interventions, and cultural partnerships which are responsive and seek to address the social, cultural and environmental milieu. Cave paintings tell stories of man and beast, we sing songs to celebrate births and to commemorate a life, ballads tell stories of unrequited love, ru

lers speak of their greatness through marble and clay, and the bard writes best what we dramatize on stage. Nations are built on their histories, relationships fostered on shares stories, finding connections where none were expected is a joy- and the arts is a means through which man can transform and engage, first with himself, and then with society and the world. Committed to innovation, SAT intends to support, promote and create platforms for innovation and creativity providing the wider public with a unique cultural and historical source of modern and contemporary art and culture. The arts are one of the few means through which we as a people can better inform ourselves about what matters to us most- personally, as a community, and as a network of societies. In a world where divisiveness seems the norm and where relationships are fragile, our vision at SAT is to rethink and reposition the relevance of the arts in society.

Serendipity Arts mourns the loss of Ustad Zakir Hussain, an artist, friend and mentor whose life and work inspired countless individuals. Ustad Sa'ab, as he is fondly called, was a virtuoso whose performances transcended time and boundaries, leaving an indelible mark on the world of music. A kind, warm and giving soul, Zakir ji believed in the power of music to unite us all. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide generations of artists.

We are deeply honoured to cherish the memory of Zakir bhai performing on the Arena at Nagalli Hills stage at the opening of Serendipity Arts Festival on 15 December 2023. He has left us with the gift of an unforgettable evening of music under the stars. His performance, rich with tradition and soul, left everyone spellbound. Each beat of his tabla told a story, each rhythm carried an emotion that connected deeply with audiences.

We dedicate this festival to Ustad Zakir Hussain and his love for bringing joy to the world with his music.

Thank you for the music, Ustad Sa'ab. We will never forget you.
