The International Committee of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent (ICBC) is a humanitarian agency of the Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Movement, an organisation in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
ICBC works on behalf of vulnerable and at-risk people worldwide wherever justice, freedom, truth, and human dignity are threatened. Through humanitarian activism, advocacy, awareness campaigns, and emergency response initiatives, ICBC strives to alleviate suffering caused by disasters, violence, conflict, poverty, and other humanitarian crises.
Our mission is to support communities in need, promote humanitarian values, strengthen resilience, and encourage positive social change. We work in cooperation with the International Federation of Blue Cross & Blue Crescent Societies (IFBC), National Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Societies, and other component agencies of the Movement to implement humanitarian programmes and mission-themed initiatives across the world.
The International Committee contributes to community development, public health, humanitarian education, emergency preparedness, and medical assistance programmes that support vulnerable individuals and communities.
