Deepalaya is an organization working on issues affecting the urban and rural poor. These projects are operational across India.

Deepalaya started in 1979 with 7 founding members with the objective of educating not-so-privileged children. Over the years, our focus has expanded from providing education only to children to helping underprivileged women, youth and children become self-reliant through education and vocational training. Deepalaya is the largest operational NGO that has established projects across Delhi, Haryana,

Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Telangana. We have been working for four decades and contributing to the crusade against illiteracy. Every child deserves a chance is what Deepalaya strongly believes in and has been working towards it. Over the years, Deepalaya has established several projects in the areas of Education (Formal/Non-Formal/Remedial), Women Empowerment (Reproductive Health, Self Help Groups, Livelihood, Microfinance), Institutional Care, Community Health, ECCD, Vocational Training, Environmental Sustainability and Differently Abled.

Almost 100 children from the Deepalaya Girl Child Project, Noida enjoyed a delightful movie outing to watch Hoppers. Accompanied by the project staff, the experience was filled with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable moments, giving the children a refreshing opportunity to relax and bond with their peers.
This memorable event was supported by KPMG India, with their employees and volunteers also participating in this joyful and enriching experience.

Building an inclusive work culture!

Deepalaya successfully conducted a three-day Sign Language Training Programme for the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF) at their New Delhi Centre.

The programme trained 29 IIBF employees in practical ISL communication, inclusive customer interaction, and accessible banking practices for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. Through engaging sessions, group activities, and real-life banking scenarios, participants gained hands-on learning in customer support, transaction handling, digital banking communication, and service etiquette, promoting a more inclusive and accessible banking environment for all.

Deepalaya launched another ECDCE Centre in Gujarat.

An Early Childhood Development Care and Education (ECDCE) centre under Project Rise was officially launched on 27th April at Moraiya Village in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The project targets preschool-age group children and is supported by the Dawoodi Bohra Community.

The centre targets school readiness, early learning, nutrition, parents engagement and health promotion.

This marks Deepalaya’s third ECDCE centre, building on successful models that have already supported hundreds of children from low-income families.

The launch event was attended by representative of His Holiness Mr. Murtaza Jamali, team members of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, Smt. Yamini Pandya (Former Assistant Principal Commissioner, Vadodara Municipal Corporation) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and other members form Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Department of Women and Child Development (WCD).
