What if one of the most overlooked health risks facing young people today showed no early signs?

Hypertension is quietly affecting millions, including adolescents and young adults. As lifestyles change and pressures grow, health risks are showing up earlier in life, often without visible symptoms. Many young people simply don’t realise what’s happening until much later.

Through our Young Health Programme (YHP), we focus on adolescents and young people aged 10–24 years in urban settings, working across Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, to address hypertension as what it truly is: a preventable lifestyle disease. By building early awareness, encouraging clean eating and movement, and supporting youth‑led health education, the programme helps young people make healthier choices while they’re still shaping lifelong habits.

On World Hypertension Day, this is a reminder that prevention begins early—and with care. When young people are supported to understand their health, we don’t just prevent disease; we help them step into healthier, more confident futures.

On World Telecommunication & Information Society Day, as connectivity grows, many girls still face barriers to being heard online.

Digital inclusion is not just about access-
It is about voice, agency, and the power to create change.

Through our Digital Mitra, adolescent girls are building skills in storytelling, photography, and social media to share their stories and shape their futures.

Because every girl deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered.

What happens when democracy is not just taught, but practised from childhood?

In Pimpri Chinchwad’s industrial region, schools often focus only on infrastructure. Children follow systems made for them, not with them.
Through Plan India’s Model School Project, supported by Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, we introduced Bal Manch (Children’s Parliament) in 6 municipal schools under PCMC.
Via transparent elections, 60–72 students were democratically elected, many experiencing voting and accountability for the first time.

They began solving real issues: hygiene, enrolment, peer learning, and sports. Shy voices gained strength. Silent classrooms found participation. Schools became inclusive and child-friendly.
When children are trusted with responsibility, they lead.

With partners like Sandvik, Plan Indiaa advances child rights and equality—turning children into changemakers.

1,000 children. One partnership. A lifetime of difference. 💛

Children with treatable orthopaedic conditions often miss timely care simply because the right facilities aren’t close to home.

Through Healthium Medtech Limited’s CSR initiative, implemented by Plan India, GIMS, Greater Noida is now equipped with advanced paediatric orthopaedic surgical equipment—designed especially for growing bodies.

This means over 1,000 children every year can now access precise, safe, and timely orthopaedic care, closer to home.
For us, this is healthcare equity in action.
For children, it’s mobility, dignity, and hope.

06/05/2026

We are thrilled to announce a major partnership with Healthium Medtech and the Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida. On 7th May 2026, we officially launch the support of Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgical Equipment!

This initiative is a dedicated commitment to all children born with musculoskeletal conditions and congenital orthopaedic deformities.

Join us in celebrating this milestone as we continue to strengthen Paediatric Orthopaedic Services for a better tomorrow.

This Labour Day,
We shine a light on the power of awareness—because every worker deserves to know and claim their rights.

Through , 602 garment workers across Delhi–NCR, including 362 women and 240 men, were trained on labour rights, workplace entitlements, and gender laws.

Awareness rose from 28% to 84%, enabling workers to better understand wages, working conditions, and legal protections, and, importantly, giving them the confidence to speak up and seek support.

🎥 Watch our trailer to see how informed workers are shaping safer, more dignified workplaces.

When global leaders listen, young people see possibilities, not limits.

During the recent visit, Ms Maddams Lori, Executive Director at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Plan International USA Board Member, along with Louise Carroll (BCG HR, USA) and Jo‑Ann Freedman, engaged directly with programme participants and alumni from Saksham and Sponsorship Community, listening to their journeys, sharing perspectives shaped by global experience, and reaffirming the value of inspiration and encouragement.

Let us continue to invest in programmes that don’t just prepare youth for jobs, but position them as leaders of a more equal future.

What does it take to build a public health system that truly reaches the last mile?

Across India, communities, especially children, adolescent girls, and women, continue to face gaps in access to quality, inclusive, and responsive public health systems. These challenges cannot be solved by one organisation alone.

That’s why Plan International (India Chapter) and the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) have come together through an MoU signed on 22 April 2026, laying the foundation for a non-financial, knowledge-driven partnership focused on strengthening public health systems from the ground up.

Signed by Mohammed Asif, Executive Director, Plan International (India Chapter), and Prof. Sanjay Zodpey, President, PHFI, the collaboration brings together practitioners, researchers, and community-focused leaders to co-create solutions that are evidence-based, inclusive, and scalable.

This partnership will enable joint work across:

Public health programme design and implementation
Capacity building of frontline workers and community leaders
Research, learning, and knowledge generation
Policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement
Innovation and digital health solutions

We aim to strengthen health systems that are child-centred, gender-transformative, and community-led, ensuring no child or young person is left behind.
