What if one of the most overlooked health risks facing young people today showed no early signs?
Hypertension is quietly affecting millions, including adolescents and young adults. As lifestyles change and pressures grow, health risks are showing up earlier in life, often without visible symptoms. Many young people simply don’t realise what’s happening until much later.
Through our Young Health Programme (YHP), we focus on adolescents and young people aged 10–24 years in urban settings, working across Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, to address hypertension as what it truly is: a preventable lifestyle disease. By building early awareness, encouraging clean eating and movement, and supporting youth‑led health education, the programme helps young people make healthier choices while they’re still shaping lifelong habits.
On World Hypertension Day, this is a reminder that prevention begins early—and with care. When young people are supported to understand their health, we don’t just prevent disease; we help them step into healthier, more confident futures.
