“Sex education is for the urban-elite”

This is one of two most common misconceptions in our field of work.

The other is that Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is limited to learning what is s*x.

🤦🏽

We're convening the India Sexuality Education Summit, where experts Meghna Joshi, counselling psychologist and mental health consultant, and Aarushi Sharma, City Coordinator at Teach For India, will talk all about the Needs and Challenges for CSE in Classrooms.

Everyone agrees s*xuality education matters.
So why is it still stuck in pilot projects, workshops, and “optional” sessions?

This panel gets into the uncomfortable, real questions
teacher hesitation, parent pushback, funding gaps, policy optics
and what it actually takes to make this part of the system, not an add-on.

Meet the panelists 👇🏼

> Sunita is building large-scale partnerships at Breakthrough to end violence against women and girls for over 25 years.

> Dr Sangeeta is a gynaecologist and co-founder of Enfold, working on s*xuality education, child safety, and gender equity across systems.

> Ramya is the co-Lead at TARSHI, designing and facilitating conversations on gender, s*xuality, and wellbeing across schools and organisations.

> Dr Arpita is a Senior Advisor at IPPF South Asia, leading research and impact across adolescent health, gender, and SRHR.

> Maitreiyee is a gender Lead at Pratham, embedding gender into classrooms, curriculum, and how education actually gets delivered.

Scaling decides what the next generation learns, questions, and accepts ☀️
