Lakshyam was founded in the year 2012 by a young social entrepreneur who further brought the group together to contribute towards the betterment of the society

About Lakshyam:
Established in 2004, Lakshyam is a social enterprise that uplifts children and women of at-risk communities through education & employment. Currently functional in 11 states of India with 13 centers, Lakshyam’s 'Butterfly: Child Welfare & Education' program offers holistic education to children, 'Lakshyam Toy Library' is a need-based approach and 'Rooh: Awakening Women’s Soul' is

designed to empower women via awareness, initiation and action. Lakshyam Programs:
'Lakshyam Toy Library' is one of the main programs of Lakshyam that distributes toys and books from the privileged children to the not-so-privileged ones. Toy Boxes are set up in several private schools in Delhi and each child donates a toy and/or book that is then delivered to the 13 tie-up Centers/NGOs across 11 states. Lakshyam Toy Library Centers have been opened in the rural districts of states like Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

'Butterfly: Child Welfare and Education' program has been designed, keeping in view the two integral building blocks of a healthy child, Development & Participation. The Remedial Education Center based at the Basti (slum) adopted by Lakshyam, JJ Basti in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi provides an education encompassing textual knowledge and personality development, along with special attention to workshops on cleanliness, hygiene, discipline, extra curricular activities and positive life habits that are carried out to help the children join the mainstream society with a broader and deeper capability.

'Rooh: Awakening Women's Soul' is a program that focuses on creating an environment conducive for women from the not-so-privileged communities. Imparting skill building training and teaching the art of sewing, cutting, stitching and embroidery to women, thus creating opportunities for income enhancement. Focus on issues affecting the lives of women, like health & hygiene education, child care and basic civic sense are provide to community women to support them in leading a life with dignity and confidence.

Sometimes, the biggest learning from an internship goes far beyond work experience.

For Aarushi, her time with Lakshyam became an opportunity to see life from a very different perspective. Working closely with communities, understanding their realities and witnessing the strength with which people navigate everyday challenges left her with something deeply personal: a greater sense of gratitude for what she has.

Experiences like these remind us that social impact is not one-sided. While young people come in hoping to contribute, they often leave having learnt, reflected and grown themselves.

We are glad Lakshyam could be a meaningful part of Arushi’s journey, and we hope she carries these lessons with her wherever life takes her next.

Real change begins long before a classroom is built. It begins by understanding the community it hopes to serve.

Lakshyam is proud to collaborate with Karyan as we take the first steps towards launching a new initiative in Noida, with the vision of reaching more underprivileged children through education and holistic development.

Our journey began with extensive community surveys across construction sites and underserved bastis, engaging with families, local stakeholders, and community organisations to better understand the needs, challenges, and aspirations of the children who call these communities home.

These conversations will help shape a programme that is thoughtful, sustainable, and built around the realities of the people it is meant to serve.

This is only the beginning, but every meaningful impact starts with a single step. We're excited to continue this journey with Karyan as we work towards creating a safe, inspiring space where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream bigger.

This Independence Day, the spirit of India echoed across all our Lakshyam centres in Ghaziabad, Kirby Place, Shakurpur, and Faridabad.

Our children celebrated the occasion with patriotic songs, vibrant dance performances, heartfelt speeches, poetry recitals, and the unfurling of the Tricolour. Every performance reflected not only their love for the nation but also the dreams they carry for a brighter future.

For us, Independence Day is more than a national celebration. It is an opportunity to teach our children the values of freedom, equality, responsibility, and unity. It is a reminder that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the freedom to learn, dream, and build a better tomorrow.

Watching their smiling faces wrapped in the colours of our nation filled our hearts with pride and hope.

Here's to raising a generation that not only celebrates freedom but also understands its value and carries it forward with compassion and purpose.

Lakshyam, in collaboration with Edrington, welcomed their team to Tuk Tuk Gilhari, our Animal Sanctuary in Gurugram, for a day dedicated to compassion, sustainability, and the simple joy of spending time with rescued animals.

From feeding our rescued residents and learning their stories to participating in engaging team-building activities, the day became a beautiful reminder that every act of kindness—no matter how small—can make a lasting impact.

As the experience came to a close, the Edrington team received handcrafted gifts made from upcycled fabric scraps by the women of Lakshyam's livelihood initiative, while our children expressed their gratitude through heartfelt handmade thank-you cards.

Lakshyam, in collaboration with Edrington, spent a wonderful day with the inspiring women of Roshani Foundation, celebrating talent, creativity, and community through a series of engaging art and craft activities.

From designing beautiful dupattas and creating mobile holders to sharing conversations and laughter, the workshop became a space where creativity flourished and meaningful connections were formed.

The celebration concluded with snacks, juices, and joyful moments captured in photographs. Lakshyam, in collaboration with Edrington, spent a beautiful day with the residents of Sri Sai Krupa Trust, Bangalore, turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.

From dancing, singing, painting, and storytelling to sharing laughter over snacks, every interaction reminded us that love, respect, and human connection are among life's greatest gifts.

The initiative also included the donation of BP monitors, sugar testing machines, thermometers, stationery, art supplies, snacks, and juices to support the well-being of the residents.

To make the day even more special, our women artisans presented handcrafted gifts made from upcycled fabric scraps, while Lakshyam's children expressed their gratitude through heartfelt handmade cards.

Friendship is one of the greatest gifts a child can receive. It teaches kindness, acceptance, sharing, and the joy of growing together.

This Friendship Day, the tiny toddlers of Golden Bells Play School, Pitampura, opened their hearts to the children of Lakshyam's Shakurpur Basti Centre, creating memories that neither group will forget.

The day was filled with games, laughter, delicious snacks, shared meals, and countless smiles. The children played together, explored fun activities, and discovered that friendship isn't defined by where you come from, it's built through kindness, curiosity, and time spent together.

For many of our children, it was more than just a celebration. It was a reminder that every child deserves to feel included, valued, and loved. And for the little ones from Golden Bells, it became a beautiful lesson in empathy, compassion, and the happiness that comes from sharing.

A heartfelt thank you to Golden Bells Play School for making this Friendship Day so meaningful and for showing that when children come together, they don't see differences, they simply see new friends.

Because the friendships we nurture today create the compassionate adults of tomorrow. 💙
