Bookaroo India’s First Children’s Literature Festival is all set for its 5th edition. http://www.bookaroo.in Bookaroo is India’s first children’s literature festival.

Started in 2008 the festival runs 2 programmes:

BOOKAROO in the City, a fortnight of book-related activities in schools across the city ending with a two-day, fun-filled Festival at Sanskriti Anandgram, New Delhi

Thanks to book lovers BOOKAROO has grown from strength to strength over the years. Last year (2011) it featured over 60 speakers participating in over 90 events. Speakers from 12 count

ries including India spread the joy of reading through their talks, readings, performances, music, craft…

Bookaroo is much more than just storytelling – although we have plenty of that! The festival includes workshops on everything from mathematics to cartoons, from building alien worlds to recycling paper; as well as story sessions under the banyan tree, puppet shows, and a doodle wall to let your imagination take flight! Meet your favourite authors, and well-loved children’s characters – from Horrid Henry to Elmer the Elephant, from characters from the Panchatantra to Ramayana, from Taranauts to I Heroes, From Mukand to Felicia. There is also a special display of children’s books by Eureka, the festival bookstore where you can buy and browse and have your books signed. Set in 7 acres of beautiful open grounds at Sanskriti Anandgram, on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon highway, there’s plenty to see and do for parents and children this weekend. ENTRY IS ALWAYS FREE and ALL ARE WELCOME

The dates this year are 24th and 25th November 2012. Find event details at: http://www.facebook.com/ #!/events/243936765735963/?fref=ts
