🪶 Celebrating Ladakh’s Black-necked Crane and the communities protecting its home.

UNDP Resident Representative Angela Lusigi joined Ladakh’s first-ever International Black-necked Crane Festival and Crane Conference, hosted by the UT Administration of Ladakh, congratulating the Administration on this landmark event.

The festival also highlighted conservation milestones through SECURE Himalaya (2017–2024), including the Nest Watcher Programme, Tso Kar’s Ramsar recognition and Hanle’s Dark Sky Reserve. 💧🌌

UNDP will build on this work through PEACE+ for snow leopard 🐆 🏔️ conservation and the GEF Small Grants Programme’s Eighth Operational Phase, with MoEFCC and TERI.

👧🏻 👦🏻 Childcare offers more than a safe space.

🏘️ In Bawana, Delhi, it is enabling low-income families, especially mothers to sustain work while giving children the care and early learning they need to thrive.

🤝 Supported by UNDP India through its Boosting Female Labour Force Participation through Strengthened Urban Care Ecosystem project, and implemented by Mobile Creches with local NGOs, the centre is making quality childcare more accessible and affordable.

🐯 Every tiger needs a thriving landscape and resilient communities.

This , we celebrate Uttarakhand, home to nearly 560 tigers and India’s third-largest tiger population. The Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary is also a vital corridor connecting the Indian Terai with Nepal’s foothill forests. 🌿

Together with MoEF&CC , International Big Cat Alliance and National Tiger Conservation Authority UNDP India is supporting the development of PEACE+, a new Global Environment Facility project to conserve:

🐅 Tigers in the Nandhaur corridor
🏔️ Snow Leopards in Ladakh
