The Olympiad aims to strengthen environmental awareness, sustainability thinking, and informed action among young adults.

Implemented by TERI, GO4Youth is supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India (MoEF&CC), and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi.

The final day of the National Green Shipping Policy (NGSP) webinar series concluded with discussions on three critical pillars of maritime decarbonization: Green Ships, Green Ship Recycling & Circular Economy, and Pollution Prevention from Maritime Activities.

โ–ช๏ธ Green Ships: Ms Ayushi Srivastava (NCoEGPSโ€“TERI) highlighted shipbuilding as a key driver of maritime decarbonisation. Mr Tomi Kautonen (ABB) shared global solutions on shore power and port electrification, while Commander Nagesh Krishnakumar and the team from Cochin Shipyard Limited showcased Indiaโ€™s progress through the Kochi Water Metro, hydrogen fuel cell ferry, and Green Tug Transition Program (GTTP).
โ–ช๏ธ Green Ship Recycling & Circular Economy: Shri Pravin Kumar Roy (DG Shipping) and Ms Ayushi Srivastava highlighted Indiaโ€™s leadership with 115 Hong Kong Convention-compliant recycling yards and discussed the proposed Ship Recycling Credit Note incentive.
โ–ช๏ธ Pollution Prevention: Ms Rupali Raj Joshi (TERI) and Shri Pravin Kumar Roy emphasized alignment with MARPOL and the London Protocol, alongside the need for Onshore Power Supply (OPS) and zero-discharge port systems.

The three-day webinar series concluded with a message from Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI, emphasized that maritime decarbonization is a strategic opportunity for Indiaโ€™s economic resilience, energy security, and global competitiveness, requiring coordinated and implementation-oriented action across all NGSP pillars.

The Energy and Resources Institute invites you to the release of its report, "India's Nuclear Energy Vision: Strategic Pathways for SMR Deployment", followed by a high-level panel discussion on "Enabling Ecosystems for Small Modular Reactors โ€“ Governance, Financing and Implementation Pathways.โ€

Dr PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Honโ€™ble Prime Minister, Government of India, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to deliberate on the future of nuclear energy in India and the pathways for enabling Small Modular Reactor (SMR) deployment.

TERI is pleased to share its report, โ€œAgri-Photovoltaics Potential in India: Pathways to Sustainable Energy and Food Solutions.โ€ The study explores how Agrivoltaics (AgriPV) can integrate solar energy and agriculture to create sustainable dual-use land systems that support clean energy growth and farmer livelihoods.

Key Insights from the Study:
โœ… Dual Land Use: Supports solar deployment alongside agricultural productivity
โœ… High Potential: ~2.83 million hectares identified as suitable for AgriPV
โœ… Large Capacity: Estimated potential of 1,192โ€“2,129 GW

Director General, TERI, Dr Vibha Dhawan, co-chaired the Strategic Dialogue โ€œBioenergy: Pathways to Prosperityโ€ at the 5th edition of the BBB โ€“ International Expo & Summit on Bioenergy, Biofuels & Biomaterials 2026 on May 8, 2026, at Yashobhoomi (IICC).

As a member of the Summit Organizing Committee, Dr Dhawan also participated in the lamp-lighting ceremony and attended the inaugural session โ€œUrja Saksham Bharatโ€ as Guest of Honour. In addition, she was part of the fireside chat on โ€œEnergy Transition of Bharat amidst Challenges.โ€

Day 2 of the NGSP webinar under Maritime INDIA @ Net Zero focused on three key pillarsโ€”Green Technology, Green Finance, and Green Skill Developmentโ€”moderated by Ms Mansi Chawla, Research Associate, NCoEGPS; Mr Imon Kalyan Barua, Research Associate, NCoEGPS; and Ms Rupali Raj Joshi, Fellow, NCoEGPS, respectively.

The sessions were enriched by expert insights from industry leaders.
โ–ช๏ธ Mr Sachin Kulkarni (Wรคrtsilรค) discussed decarbonization pathways, fuel-flexible engines (methanol and ammonia), and carbon capture pilots.
โ–ช๏ธ Mr Tarun Kumar (Integri Marine) highlighted vertical-axis wind turbines and Onshore Power Supply (OPS).
โ–ช๏ธ Dr Saptarshi Basu, GM DPA at OHSE, shared perspectives on sovereign nuclear maritime propulsion for energy security.
โ–ช๏ธ Mr Rui Pedro Almeida Rego (Kongsberg Maritime) emphasized energy-saving devices and electric Ropax concepts, while Capt. Gur Prasad Kohli (FOSMA) stressed industry-aligned training and practical skill development.

Day 2 strengthened stakeholder engagement, integrating technology, finance, and human capital insights crucial for advancing the NGSP.
