It is a non-profit initiative, participation is free. Curated by Samyukta Media Designed as informal workshops the Baithaks do not have classroom type lectures or conference types talks or presentations. It largely consists of informal face to face conversations between a Social Media knowledge provider at one hand and a knowledge seeker on the other. Emphasis is laid on doing rather than talking.
Social Media practitioners often come with their laptops and internet connections and give live demo to the participants on how social media can be used for their business, campaigns or causes. There is no fixed time limit; it can be a half day or full day event depending upon the participant’s level of interest. In case of large number of participants at gatherings such as the Bring Your Film Festival the format is changed in order to accommodate everybody. However the participatory and informal approach is a non-negotiable and is never compromised.
