Yesterday, the National Coalition for Women's Reservation (NCWR) met with the media at a press conference held at the Press Club of India, calling for the immediate and unconditional implementation of the Women's Reservation provisions.

YWCA of India being part of the NCWR placed the demands of the YWCA movement in India. Ms. Kunjamma Mathew, National President of YWCA of India, addressed the gathering, reaffirming YWCA of India's longstanding commitment to gender justice, equal representation, and the urgent need to ensure women's meaningful participation in decision-making spaces.

The coalition urged the Government to implement the Women’s Reservation Bill without further delay or conditions, marking a concrete step towards strengthening inclusive and representative democracy.

We are happy to collaborate with BAALA as a Knowledge Partner for The Missing Indicator: Menstrual Health in SRHR Frameworks.
On 9 June 2026 at IIC, New Delhi, YWCA of India facilitated a learning and solution-building session on Menstrual and Climate Justice & SRHR, led by Pranita Biswasi , National Programmes Manager, YWCA of India, and Ms. Angela Eldon, RiseUp! Master Trainer, Southwest Region.

Menstrual justice cannot be an afterthought. As climate crises, disasters, and migration reshape lives and communities, women and girls continue to face barriers to accessing menstrual health services, information, and dignity.

Together, we explored how menstrual justice can be meaningfully integrated into climate adaptation, disaster preparedness, migration responses, and SRHR policies, while addressing stigma, discrimination, and caste-based barriers.
