🧵From Threads to Textiles — Learning the Craft First-Hand!

Students of New Delhi YMCA – IFTD explored the foundations of textile creation during their industrial visit to the Weaver’s Service Centre, Delhi, it is a government organization under the Ministry of Textiles, gaining valuable exposure to the art and science of weaving and printing.

From warp preparation and yarn handling to loom functioning and fabric formation, students experienced the complete textile process beyond the classroom. A visit to Barkhandi Handloom further provided real-world insights into traditional handloom production and craftsmanship.

Interior Design students of the New Delhi YMCA – Institute for Fashion Technology & Design (IFTD) (AID Jan 2026 batch) gained valuable hands-on exposure during a landscaping visit to a terrace garden at Bhagat Hospital, Janakpuri.

Guided by Dr. C. M. Bhagat, students explored key elements of terrace garden design, including plant zoning, vertical gardens, seating layouts, pergolas, and sustainable landscaping techniques. They also learned about material selection, waterproofing, drainage systems, and plant suitability for urban environments.
