Sambhav, a nonprofit organisation, works on two key issues: gender and the environment. Empowering women and organic farming. It is an issue based organization.
Sambhav is a non profit volunteer agency. It was registered under Society Registration Act on 8th March, incidentally the International Women's Day in he year 1989. The twin issues are gender and environment. GENDER activities include, among others providing legal and emotional support to women in distress, improving their capacity to negotiate with govt. functionaries and other power centers. It
also aims at imparting skills, their organizing ability for greater self reliance. Their constantly encouraged to exercise, control over natural resources around them like, natural forest, indigenous seeds and water. Improving sanitation and personal hygiene and preventive health, particularly for young adolescent girls, tribal and Dalits and other disadvantaged groups.the women are particularly encouraged to honor girl children and their mothers. They are enabled to tackle domestic violence by mutually supporting each other. Under ENVIRONMENT , the organization focuses on promotion of ecologically sustainable agriculture or agriculture in harmony with nature ; biodiversity conservation, natural forest protection with people's participation, soil health care, watershed management and improvement of sanitation. Currently, it is acting as a resource center for sustainable agriculture, i.e., experimenting, demonstrating and imparting training on organic farming and Eco restoration activities.

'Bhala Khaiba, Bhala Khuaiba' — a humble initiative by Sambhav to celebrate healthy food and healthy living. Rooted in the belief that nourishment goes beyond the plate, it is a journey into the fields, kitchens, and hearts of the people who keep our food traditions alive. Hear the voices from the ground — the stories of resilience, care, and connection that make every meal meaningful.
From this year the “Kotha Bhoga” would be prepared from organic rice and we are extremely thankful to the divine for materialising this movement which once started with the very idea of our Founder Prof Radhamohan sir. In Shree Mandir terminology also known as “ amruta manohi “ kotha Bhoga is something which is offered to the deities near ratna singhasan and we as a team thought that the best indigenous varieties of organic rice should be offered instead of chemically grown ones. Deeply grateful to The Almighty for accepting this, Pragati , Koraput, all the farmers who grew the grains, and the Temple Administration for all the efforts .

A challenge was put to a group of people - ‘it is impossible (Asambhav) to grow anything on this piece of land’. The challenge was accepted and we committed to make it possible. Of the challenge, Sambhav (possible) was born on 8th March 1989, coincidentally International Women's Day, as an organisation under Society Registration Act. Environment and gender has remained the focus areas besides other activities.
Promotion and protection of natural forests, biodiversity conservation, experiment, practice and sharing knowledge on sustainable agriculture, promotion of health, hygiene and sanitation, conservation of natural resources using watershed management principles etc. are the thrust areas under environment issues.
Promotion and protection of interest of women, prevention of violence of women and children at places of occurrence through community participation, providing necessary support to women and children in crises, improving the overall life conditions of women have remained the thrust areas under gender issues.
Sambhav also responds to needs of specific individuals and communities when required through voluntary action.
Today, it has created a name for itself through the dedicated service of a small team of local people. We invite more and more volunteers to be part of this initiative.
